Not sure they should. I think too many are getting carried away with us making a good start and playing attacking football.

This could be a severe reality check for us.

If you stop Maddison, then you stop a lot of what we do.

We also don’t have a top striker to finish the chances.

I’m happy how we have started the season but c’mon we are just a few games in on a rebuild and they finished 2nd last year and have added Rice to their midfield and improved with Raya as gk as more reliable.

I think he is suspect mind at long shots, so that might be a good reason to try a few at him.

Ultimately, it won’t decide our season but would be good to keep momentum.

But them fearing us?? Not a chance.

They are miles ahead of us in the process and should be heavy favourites.

That’s not to say we can’t win or play well but a win for them is more likely and I fear for the fans response to a heavy loss.

Let’s back Ange regardless of the result and realise where we are in the rebuild.

this game will tell us where we are as a team vs good opposition.

fingers crossed for a good result.
Yeah agree with this. Be interesting to see if we can play through their press, if we can’t and they Marshall maddison and bissouma we are in trouble. They are excellent at pressing and squeezing the pitch.
On the finishing front, I tend to agree the only player I back to finish chances is Son. Sheff United game showed that.
I hate these games, very rarely get anything from them I just hope it doesn’t go really badly.
We are just starting out in this project and still don’t have a great squad. Gonna take s lot of luck.

Yep, the arrogance is breathtaking after, what? One season of being a decent side?

Tets appears to be playing silly-buggers with Martinelli, trying to keep us guessing on whether he'll be fit or not. He is key though, not just because he's a great player but because him and Saka offer a threat from both sides that is impossible to deal with. We can deal with Saka, or Martinelli alone but together it's too many threats. So yes, Arteta is right to make us sweat on that. But still, we can outscore them. Can't see us not conceding 2 though and it's going to be tight.

Fuck them and to a certain point fuck the result. For me it’s about how we play and how we as fans react to whatever the result may be. We’re on the up and I’m happy about that regardless.

Arsenal Mania
  • "Leave no Sp**s player uncrushed!!".
  • Man for man we have a better squad than Sp**s. And we're playing at home. I am cautiously optimistic.
  • Combined XI would be all Arsenal players except Maddison.
  • Impostercoglu is getting exposed here. 2-0 Arsenal.
  • I always feel a bit sick when we have to play this lot, just can't ****ing stand them.
We absolutely tea bagged them twice last season, would love to do it again.
  • It's a really silly message from Son, up there with Harry Kane in 2016 posting that Sp**s were lions chasing Leicester for the league title. That went well for them.
All these moronic posts do is give the opposition (in this case, us) more motivation.
  • United, Bournemouth, Fulham and Burnley? They act like they've been beating top teams.
I'd be surprised if this isn't anything but a decent Arsenal win.
  • I would like us to intensely grab their throats and squeeze.
  • They’re getting the usual treatment. Woeful side in transition and haven’t faced anybody near our level. They simply won’t be able to handle us. The Aussie and his low hanging gut aren’t doing anything at the emirates.
  • We’re gonna smash them, like we usually do.
Game will be similar to PSV tbh, Postecoglou plays nice and open. We’re a different level to them.
    3-0.
  • They're a decent team. That's all they are.
If both teams play to their potential. Arsenal is going to rout them.
There's a reason we're one of the favourite to end the PL while they're just hoping to get top 4.
That said, we have to bring our A game.
Smash them and kill their moment and damage their fragile mentality and watch them go on a poor run.
  • Please, God, let us humiliate these fvckers!
  • A win here just to remind the world that Sp**s are ****.
  • This game has all the signs of it being a great NLD. Sp**s playing decent attacking football and Arsenal starting to find some proper form. Will be torture to watch of course, but either way the game goes I will be getting drunk as ****
  • Confidently predict a 4-0 win to let them know their place in the pecking order.
  • This game is going to be a reality check for them and their fans.
When they had Kane there always was that one player/aspect you had to fear. But that's gone now. Now they're just a decent team punching above their weight. That bubble is going to burst on Sunday.
  • Fancy this one to be over by HT. Arsenal 4 Sp**s 1.
  • I'm confident in our team, but I'm wary at how many fans are treating Sp**s like they're going to be walked over. Think we've got to remain a bit humble, the team hasn't achieved anything quite yet.
  • Should batter these guys. Kai to get his first goal too, I’ll quote this
  • We need to batter these pretenders.
  • Gonna be end to end this, Perisic out now aswell. If they come at us we will kill them.
  • 3-1 win. Vieira with two goals and Saka with one goal.
  • I think Vieira can handle the Sp**s midfield
  • 4-0 to Arsenal. Son cries himself to sleep...
  • They will come out and try and stamp their authority, that is something you can respect. They won’t play as cowards as we’ve seen in years gone by and that's not a dig at you, Sp**s fans.
  • Shut down Maddison you shut down Sp**s everything goes through him.
  • Sp**s due to be found out and it's getting to that time of the season when that typically happens.
  • Combined 11 should be all Arsenal. You could make a case for Son over Trossard, but that's it.

There are 3 more pages that I didn't have time to look through. I should probably try to get some work done...

Didn't realise that glue sniffing is still such a thing.

We haven't played Fulham in the league yet. Arsenal have. And they drew. At home. Against 10 men.

Also, the list of teams that Arsenal have beaten? Forest, Palace, United and Everton. Not a single one of those wins was convincing. And they have the cheek to say that we "act like we've been beating top teams."
We also had 3 of our first 4 games away from home. Our toughest games were the same one, home to Utd and we made lighter work of it. Although next toughest between both clubs is away at Brentford. Even this being the biggest game for both teams so far is at their place first (yet again).

Went into a random shop, shopkeeper said something about cash being king, I said not really, its getting hard to spend.
He said, I went to the Emirates yesterday and that's cashless
I said, I went to the Emirates last season and it was soulless too
He said, Spurs fan are you? You have a great stadium, shame you didn't build a trophy cabinet
I said, that's original did you think that up yourself?
He said, you have no chance of winning on Sunday
I said, over confidence makes victory much sweeter and left his shop
And that is why the NLD is the biggest game of the season. COYS

The end of the encounter was caught on CCTV

The arrogance and ignorance is hilarious. If we draw or win it’ll be even sweeter.

Barely any of their fans clearly haven’t watched us this season.

The boys are confident, they love the system and the manager. They believe in themselves, and they believe they should be feared. I like that. I also agree, any team should fear playing us. I don't much care where we are in our cycle, as long as the boys believe in themselves.

Stopping Maddison is easier said than done, and we could say the same thing about Ødegaard. I'm not sure I agree with it anyway, as the system is so dynamic and there's so much movement. Bissouma is a much better passer than I thought, Sarr is good as well. It was always said Conte didn't need creativity, his system would take care of the goals. That didn't work out too well. Ironically it might in this case.

Haha my point was me missed countless chances and needed a lot of extra time and none of the chances in 90 fell to son. Others missed a lot. I get Kulu etc scored but Kulu isn’t exactly a goal scorer and Richie scored his first prem goal in how long?
To be fair this season has shown goals are coming all over the team so far. Kulusevski already has 2 goals, even Romero has 2.

This is pretty much how I felt till I went on their forum... I'm still not expecting a win or anything, but fuck me, I really want us to get something out of the game now.
Fucking bunch of ****s.

Arsenal fans on social media and forums are like cults (not a spelling mistake but also not necessarily not a spelling mistake). They’re very weird. I imagine they’re only as disrespectful as this when they’re playing us but still, the level of arrogance is astonishing.

That said, even when we finished above them for 6 or 7 years in a row, we still lost almost every game at their place so it’s not entirely surprising that they all think they’re gonna smash us.

Personally, I’m expecting to lose by one or two goals, we didn’t win there under peak Poch (in the league) so I’m not expecting much. A draw would be brilliant this early under Ange. But even if we’d beaten Arsenal every game for the last 10 years, I’d still never come out with the arrogant shit they come out with. For every ‘it could be a tough game but I expect us to edge it cos we’re at home and their record here isn’t great’, there are 100 ‘those fackin’ useless ****s we’re better than them in every single position them trophyless spursy ****s 7-0 by half time or I’ll eat my own shit’ (fullstops and commas left out on purpose).

And ‘impostercoglue’? Aimed at someone who’s come into the league and got 13 points from their first 5 games. You can’t just give someone a nickname because it sounds like their name if it means nothing. Like calling Klopp ‘Jurgen Flopp’ a couple of years ago. Lazy ****s. Do better Arsenal fans.
Also, after Potsofcockglue, anything else is just shit

They’re some of the most arrogant clueless football fans up there with the bin dippers. So glad I was born into a Spurs supporting family, Arsenal fans are a joke.

I never let Woolwich fans wind me up.
A cursory glance of Arsemania posts, kindly supplied on here reveals a fan base mainly consisting of 26 year old virgins living in their mums attic rooms, dressed in semen stained Sports Direct joggers and existing on a diet of toasted cheese sandwiches and Kit Kats.

Scum have every reason to be chirpy. They have a good settled side who have been playing the system for 3-4 years and genuine X factor in Saka/Odegaard etc...

Spurs will go at them and likely be punished for it and lose. But they will got it the next time and the time after that and very quickly the tide will turn again. (y)
