Ange has impressed me by getting the team to play better on the ball. We've also proven ourselfs somewhat by doing it against a good pressing team in Arsenal.
I think good coaches can always improve a defence (Conte + Mourinho) but it takes more than 'coaching ability' to get a team to play. It takes more than just perseverance and effort.
I'm seeing greenshoots of chemistry between us and Ange.

He had 3 pre season friendlies, 2 called off. Now after 6 games he’s got them playing brilliant one touch football in their own area. All this working with coaches who he has never worked with before. Jedinak played for him for Australia. We usually get managers turning up with a gaggle of their mates, saying they need 2 or 3 transfer windows.
Yes we cock it up now and again. We have scored 2 goals in every game except Burnley when it was 5.
Halfwit pundits waffling on about replacing 30;goals from Kane. Kane averages about 23 per season. If we score 70 plus this season, as we did last season, we will be top 4. We won’t let in 63 again.
Martin O’Neill saying this morning that we don’t have a top class scorer. Sonny looked pretty good to me. Son is a classic one touch finisher. 20 goals this season, no bother with this team.
Daniel really has struck gold with this manager.

The notion that Son is anything other than a top-class scorer is complete nonsense.

Michael Caley had a post on Twitter last week showing that since the 2010-2011 season, De Bruyne the only player in world football who bested Son for outperforming his xG, among players taking at least 750 shots in that time. If you reduce the sample to those taking 1000+ shots, Son ranks as the single most clinical player in the entire world during that timeframe.

He's an absolutely top-class finisher. As we continue to create chances for him he's going to score loads and loads of goals.

That makes it even more remarkable. Is it his ability to choose the right people, his ability to manage people or more likely both?

That's amazing. TBH, I would have thought with his dip in form last season, that wouldn't be possible, but this season he's got his confidence back and is back to his best, so I'm a happy bunny.

Baffling. I wonder if this is Celtic envy?

I can understand the position O’Neil is taking. Sonny is brilliant, and he’s shown many times how natural a finisher he is. The first equaliser yesterday was a beautiful example of that. What Sonny can’t do though is bully central defenders in the same way someone like Kane, Haaland etc can do. He’s not your typical all rounder number 9.

Sonny struggled against the low block last week and we needed the hustle and bustle of Richarlison to get the job done.

This might already have been shared, but sharing it anyway. Before you read it, Explain to me what this feeling is where I feel emotionally proud and close to bursting into tears. Is there a name for it?

Anyway, here is the article from the Metro (7 June) written by a Celtic Fan/Journalist:

Ange Postecoglou will have Premier League and Spurs snobs eating their words

We Never Stop.

It’s also been tiresome seeing a debate about whether Tottenham are ‘bigger’ than Celtic.

I can end that debate – they are not and never will be.
Re the who is the bigger club referred to in this article I did notice Ange being quite diplomatic recently in an interview He said something like he had moved from one of the biggest clubs in the world to one of the most famous.
Very difficult to eastimate fan base size but if you use social media as a guide on facebook Celtic 2,000,000 , Spurs 32,000,000, Spurs also have a massive lead on both Twitter and Instagram. One area that Celtic do lead is 800 official supporters clubs , Spurs 450.
Think I know who are the bigger club.

Edit .. other way round moved from one of most famous to one of the biggest.

You've named elite strikers there. O'Neil saying we lack a "Top Class scorer" is just wrong. We lack a Traditional #9 who is top class.

I can't remember exactly , whatever way round it was he was very diplomatic to not get into any comparison.

PS Your right other way round, whichever way round Scots need to come into the real world.

saw this too, but think the second one, with more than 1000 shots, he is the most clinical… other than Messi

Messi must be on another level but still, Sonny is who we want on the ball when we create shooting / finishing opportunities

If there’s any small small bone to pick, for this nld, when deki slipped him thru w a reverse pass, he tried to go near post (like Nketiah did on the Udogie mistake) when usually H will just arrow them low and hard into the far post (and most times keepers can’t react fast enough).

In fact Sonny has another weapon there, as he is so ambidextrous he could even shift it to left to place to far post (ala his Chelsea solo goal albeit I know angle and sitch is dissimilar)

Hoping to see one of his trademark curlers into top corner this weekend against fools. He loves scoring against them!

You've read his follow-up backwards, Son is the only player who has outdone Messi among those with more than 1000 shots.

It's not an exaggeration to say that among strikers he's the most clinical player in the world. Only De Bruyne has been more clinical in all of world football dating back to 2010.

After Ange’s first few games I thought he was going to be good and bring some excitement but now I’m starting to think he’s not just good, he’s a fucking visionary! Long way to go and all that but the only questions around him were based on him only managing in less established leagues. It’s really starting to look like his methods will work at the top level and it’s going to be very interesting to see what happens next year when we add a bit more depth to this squad.

Our problem has always been that we’re competing against teams with much bigger bank rolls but sometimes a manager comes along who can level the playing field with genuine ability and by recruiting the right players instead of trying to sign the biggest names available.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself but I think he might be very, very special! It’s extremely important that we don’t jib out when we eventually lose or hit a rocky patch. This is the one we need to stick with and weather any storms together as a unified club and fan base. The biggest test for us will be keeping the stadium rocking when things aren’t going our way.

If I can equate Premier League managers to chess players, in chess you have a bunch of top players who are about the same level. They’ll all take points off of each other but there’s usually one or two who just see further than all the rest. If Pep is Magnus Carlsen then maybe Ange is the 15 year old Indian kid who turns up and starts laying the smack down on all the established names. Let’s see if he can keep this up and take us a step further than Poch was able to do!

edit- shit I didn’t mean to write such a wall of text but it’s done now so deal with it 😀
