Neville and redknapp are missing the point on the red card. The whole reason for having the wild and out of control rule is to stop leg breakers. Clearly Jones went over the top and clearly he could of broken Bissoumas leg.

Jones could/should have done a block tackle. I feel sorry for him a bit as he seems a nice bloke. I don't think he was intentionally trying to hurt Bissouma like the Charlie Adams of the world. But it was right to be red to stop this kind of foul.

I guess my frustration lies in the fact that we had no idea how to break down eight outfield players, if we want to be finishing at the top end of the table we should be able to break teams down in this situation regardless of the opposition.
When a team sits deep and ridged, especially a well drilled team with top players and top manager numbers don’t matter. If they don’t come forward or press where do u want the gaps to be exposed? Liverpool are a top ten team in the world, this wasn’t a Burnley team mate.

What a perfect way to win it. Yes, we could have hammered them beeing two men down, but an overtime own goal is just perfect. Will install the winners mentality even more.
They were scary at counters and solid defensively but we frustrated them in the central areas. Big shouout to the three midfielders and porro/udogie for putting in a good shift. And VDV - what a player we have in him.
Had the game on with my seven year old son, he was glued to the telly and celebrated in the end.

Perisic is out for the season and his contract ends in June, so for all intents and purposes his time at the club has finished.

Experience has shown that Lo Celso and Gil cannot be relied upon to be fit and available.

All it takes is one additional injury in the front line and our options dwindle to what we saw today.

We need another attacking option in January.

I agree - though it could be that Lo Celso and/or Bryan do something over the next few months to claim that spot. History suggests they won't - but nothing about this squad will surprise me this season.

Love that there's even more injustice to wind them up 🤭😂

Anyone fancy listing all the unlucky, unjust things that have gone against us over the years against Liverpool so I can be ready with my response when pool mates start moaning?
