Just read the Kulusevski thread from 2 weeks ago (hadn't been in it since) to see how a player can be scathingly written off. Bissouma is this weeks scapegoat. Yes he fucked up and his form isn't great, but you'd think we'd have learned by now not to write players off when their form drops (temporarily)
you are on a bit of roll. Stupid foul by a player plagued by inconsistent play this year. far too much talent to throw in the towel this early in ange's tenure. On his day he is a class player and it is hard to find those guys without major transfer fees.Get. Rid.
Absolutely no discipline. The card only happened because of his awful first touch there.
Ange's face said it all. As did nobody going over to him aside from Royal, who is just a nice bloke.
Are people writing him off? Not many that I can see but he deserves criticism for tonight.
Thought he was good against Newcastle but his form has been poor in general lately and what he did tonight is unacceptable, just like it would be if it was Romero or any other player. We need to stop being our own worst enemy.
For comparison I mentioned how only 2 weeks ago Kulusevski was being written off; Richie, Lo Celso and Bissouma more recently. I just think the criticism is harsh. Players make mistakes or don't perform to their potential and they know when they do reach the standards expected. I just don't see any benefits to looking at every poor performance so critically.
No one is in Dembele's league. No spurs supporter thinks or thought Bissouma is anywhere near him. Seriously mate..We thought we had our new dembele, this guy has nowhere near the level of composure of moussa and not only has he let us down twice, but in general i would argue he has been one of the worst players on the pitch since his return from his first suspension. Bentancur can’t come back quick enough.
Think it’s easy to pile on currently given the dip in form and the red card tonight, but he is a huge reason why we are in the league position we are right now given how he started the season. We should be sticking by him, trying to boost his morale when it’ll obviously be low, not go into full on Mark Goldbridge mode.
fully agree! the state of the match thread was something else. he's definitely not at the same level as earlier in the season but I would also imagine playing in a way where you know there's limited players to cover you (due to injuries, suspensions etc.) does your head in. His play has been more ponderous than instinctive & that's telling of his mental state (or maybe carrying a niggle). I think he will go to AFCON, get a change of scenery & come back stronger for our 2nd half of the season. Till then, as angry as I got with him for letting his teammates down, I'm not gonna throw him under the bus & want him out. He's gonna be a super important player for us this season & beyondSome of you really need to get out of your emotions every time something like this happens. I haven’t seen these kind of childish knee jerk responses in a while, probably since Ndombele left.
There’s room for valid criticism but wanting him gone over two incidents is just insane.
I don't feel like I'm being harsh or too reactive, however he's been in pretty terrible form since Luton. Up to Luton, he was simply unplayable, however since that sending off, something has happened to him. I've seen the debate on here re who our midfield three would be when all fit but for me it's pretty simple. Bentancur, Sarr & Maddison would be my three all day long and if we have a team who are going to sit in against us, I would probably go Bentancur, Maddison & Kulusevski. I rate Bissouma, he was one of our most important players at the start of the season but he seems to have lost his confidence again. He was breezing past players for fun early doors but he's stopped doing that, Ange needs to work with him to try and rediscover that form. Maybe he's playing within himself with the upcoming AFCON.
