Just remembering extra snippets from my drunken catch up 🤣....

PEH I would say is currently more likely to leave than stay in the Jan window with interest and we have interest in a replacement from Serie A but the name evades me currently.
Ederson from Atlanta has been linked, he's a 6 as well so could be him

Thought he had a pretty good game personally. Still think he is likely to go next month, and I think that's for the best in the long run, but did ok tonight.
I think he's done well all season, he's not perhaps mobile enough for the system but he is very good at progressing the ball.

He's also not kicked up a fuss and has been 100% professional even though he wants to leave.

If we get the right offer he should be allowed to go for his own sake, but he doesn't deserve the scapegoat status he is given on here.

I also think he'll do very well wherever he goes. Kind of like Trippier, didn't fit our system but still a very good player.

He is not ok, he is shit. At fault for the first goal. Constantly pointing and not tackling.
struggles to pass to team mates.
If he does make a decent pass it is a backwards one
please leave
Could not disagree more. None of the goals were his fault. Son was at fault for the first goal. PEH certainly divides opinion. I personally thought he had an okay game., couple of good interceptions, two decent balls down the channels to set up counter attacks. Yes he’s not mobile enough and absolutely has his faults but I just don’t see him as being ‘shit’ like some posters say. Frustrating at times, but certainly not shit.

Am I fine with him leaving in January, yes, am I fine with him staying, equally yes. When the squad is fully fit is he a starter? No, should be Sarr and Bents for me if we’re playing with a 2.

I’ve wanted rid of him for ages because I’ve just always known he isn’t and would never be good enough to play in a top team, in a top teams style. He was always very clearly a Mourinho style player and I don’t believe he was even good enough to be in a Mourinho team good enough to win things. Mourinho’s teams that won things were full of absolute machine’s and world class players and he’s absolutely nowhere near that. He’s definitely not shit but I disagree incredibly strongly with anyone that believes he’s anything more than slightly above average and does a job where he can clog holes in a low block. Any other role than that and I think it’s touch and go whether he’s a top 8-10 level PL midfielder.

That's the one 👍🏼....Brazilian 🇧🇷
Seen this guy 2-3 times and I liked what I saw, I try and watch Atalanta when I see they’re on TNT sport because they always seem to have a few interesting players and this guy is definitely one of them. Decent on the ball, reasonable burst of pace but the thing that stood out is he plays on the half turn and takes a positive first touch out of his feet consistently and see’s progressive passes very quickly. Maybe wouldn’t be a starter or anything like that but I think he’d be an excellent squad player and a big upgrade on Hojbjerg both in being suited for the system and for the pace of the PL. His ability to see a picture before he’s received the ball and passing ability would see him adapt quite quickly I think.

As you know, I think he’s better than you do, but this post is a great example of a well put criticism - contrary to the black/white “he’s shit/he waves his arms too much/he doesn’t take responsibility”-posts.
Thank you.

He reminds me of Douglas Luiz in all honesty.

I’d prefer Vermeeren, younger and looks a real talent.

Over the next couple windows I’d go PEH and Lo Celso out and Vermeeren and Scott in.

I think some of those posts are just out of sheer frustration and I do kind of get it because he can be an incredibly frustrating player to watch sometimes. With a cool head there’s not a brain cell inside me that thinks he’s shit, I just don’t think he’s good enough and haven’t for a very long time. I’ve never seen the potential in him to contribute towards where we want to be. The second someone like Sarr stepped on the pitch for us I could see it straight away and I’ll just voice my opinion on who I believe are the right players to take us where we want to be. We’re doing pretty well in terms of building a really strong team for the future right now but we’re still 5-6 player trades away from it and i think an upgrade on Hojbjerg is one of them.

I’d rather Ederson personally because I’d rather a ready made player like him come in than wait for a player like Vermeeren to develop and in all likelihood (he’s a big talent but I’m just talking probability here) not be as good as Bentancur or Bissouma and end up as a bench warmer anyway. I’ve seen barely anything of him though, so maybe it’s blindingly obvious that he’s going to be a sensational player going forward?

And that’s perfectly fine, of course. But I really don’t understand why some people feel the need to attack him personally, even if they are frustrated with him. I mean, he has obviously been one of our most dedicated players and always gives everything - and he still does that even though he’ll probably leave. In these days where many players spend more time on their appearance than on the training pitch, I think that calls for some respect at least.

I agree with you to an extent but I do think his great attitude and work ethic are slightly overstated by some. He definitely has a good work ethic and is extremely reliable, barely ever injured etc but there’s one thing I do agree with his critics on and that’s him being extremely cowardly in possession. He very rarely takes a brave touch on the half turn, it’s normally a wooden touch in between his feet, so that he can shield the ball straight away if he’s pressed and this is something people who don’t believe in their technique or agility do. His movement off the ball to find space to receive a pass is also either 1. Cowardly or 2. Just lazy and I believe it’s number 1. So yeah like I said I agree with you to an extent but overall he’s not this brave warrior with a massive mentality that a lot of people make him out to be. It seems when it comes to things like a players first touch and movement of the ball which are both absolutely massively important attributes for a quality player, a lot of people aren’t paying enough attention because he is really lacking there.

He doesn’t deserve all the negative comments. He's a decent player if the manager uses his strenghts and plays him in his best position. With that said, I think if we get a good offer we should sell him and replace him with a more versatile player. And I also think PEH himself wants a new challenge.

I think he’s a decent player in the right system. He was our best, most consistent midfielder for a long time which is probably one of the reasons he gets a lot of hate. He’s wholly associated with a really drab, uninspiring time to be a Spurs fan.

I think he’s a really bad fit for Ange’s system though which brings his limitations to the fore. I think a move would be good for him and the club.

Mid game Rorschach test?

Good player, poor fit for current system. Has been great value for what he was recruited for and will hopefully get a good move whilst we get a decent chunk of cash to replace him with.

He isn't really good enough for where we want to get to as a team. But I hate the disrespect he receives both on here and in the stadium. He's a good pro and seems like a decent guy.
