Player Watch Player Watch: James Maddison

Agree, I think there is too much pressure on Maddison to be largely our sole avenue of creativity. The front three don’t have it and neither does Sarr, Kulu has the capability but is too inconsistent. Crowd Maddison and you cut off our creativity and ability to break down defences, Werner...

    Conor Gallagher

I like him and he’s got a fighting spirit missing in too many of our players. Having said that I’m not convinced he should be a priority position with us needing in my view quality starters at CF, WF and #6, after that we need cover/competition for Udogie and Porro and cover for VDV. That’s a...

    Nico Williams

Agree MGW is not a patch on GLC, injuries come and go buts he’s been fit for a while now and for some inexplicable reason Ange won’t use him even experimenting with a struggling Kulu rather than playing GLC. Our defence comes under too much pressure from a front line not able to retain...

Player Watch Player Watch: Dejan Kulusevski

i just don’t get this at all. Played decent against Arsenal and it was his best game for a long time, where does the lack of confidence come from. Came out in an interview and stated he wanted to play centrally and when he gets his chance he lets the manager and himself down by turning in an...

    Match Threads Chelsea vs Spurs

The point would be to play better football and get points, GLC is a contracted player with just over a year of his contract to run. I actually find it frustrating seeing GLC not given opportunities because he is a better footballer with more ticker than what we are being subjected to.

Player Watch Player Watch: Timo Werner

Based on today’s performance, Werner is more of a threat off the left than Son, Johnson and Gil. This is actually consistent with what we’ve seen in his time with us. I’m sure he would have given Chelsea more to worry about than we saw today.

    Match Ratings Ratings vs Chelsea

Decent performances from Romero, VDV, Emerson and Vicario but we conceded from a set piece cross yet again. Poor performances, Porro, Biss, Johnson, Richy Awful performances, Kulu, Son and Sarr Subs seemed to lose a bit of momentum but Gil was a waste of space, Madds came alive towards the...

If that is true then it is seriously pathetic behaviour and I really expect so much more integrity from Ange. Having said Ange’s reluctance to play GLC for any meaningful minutes is beyond comprehension, anyone telling me the Kulu is a better central midfielder Im not buying at all.

Player Watch Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

This season he hasn’t put a foot wrong, he was injured for a spell but when he’s been available and played he’s been quality. Have no idea where this “he can’t be relied on” comes from.

Player Watch Player Watch: Dejan Kulusevski

Kulu is just not at anywhere near the level of Maddison or GLC and it is really sad watching him play that role when he just isn’t good enough. Ange’s reluctance to play GLC is inexplicable and going almost the whole season without trying Madds and GLC together is such a waste, for 10 minutes...

Those reported wages are going to be a hurdle for many clubs looking at him.

Player Watch Player Watch: Guglielmo Vicario

It doesn’t need to be complicated, you cannot leave an opposition player free to sit on and f### with your keeper. If they put a player there, then he must be marked no exceptions. Our approach to setting up for corners has a look of theory worked up on a whiteboard.

    Team for Chelsea

Real vote of no confidence in our current number 6 midfielders but to be honest stop Palmer and Chelsea are pretty average, Romero would seal that area off and he’s easily better in possession than what we’ve seen from this area. I really think the Kulu GLC combo would be Interesting and we’ve...

Player Watch Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

Think his spell when Madds was injured was quality and he ran the show versus Bournemouth. His cameos have been pretty impressive albeit far too brief, think it’s unfair on him and his performances to describe it as desperatio.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

Vicario has a serious weakness on corners and that is being exposed every week. Not putting someone on the blocker is negligent and beyond stupid, Ange and his coaches need to focus on these things. They’re blindingly obvious and not being addressed.
