Player Watch Player Watch: Brennan Johnson

Mate of mine is a Forest fan. I asked his opinion when we first looked at signing him. He said he has huge potential but he felt it was a season too soon, he still needed more time to develop before coming up to out level. However he did say being around better players regularly may speed up his...

    Match Threads Everton vs Spurs

Patches we were right on it. But end of first half and end of the second, we’re just a little too clumsy in possession, either getting crowded out, or leaving passes too short.

    Spurs Youth Thread 23/24

Wonder if it’s more about getting more development minutes for Donley?

    Spurs Youth Thread 23/24

Is there any opportunity Parrott comes back as a first team player for us? Seems to be doing ok on loan, but at 21 he has Scarlett, Véliz, Lankshear and Soonsup-Bell for competition, all a year or so younger than him.

    Mid-window review: ins/outs?

Liking the new world. Appears to be a raised focus and cohesiveness about the setup. We’re getting really positive feedback about the work Lange & Co are doing, plus Fabio still patrolling Serie A for us, and all under the clear direction of what Ange wants, albeit he appears more flexible to...

    Mid-window review: ins/outs?

For the first time I’m not to concerned by the last day madness. If an opportunity presents itself I feel we may have room to move, but ultimately if we don’t, I think the impending return of injured and internationals leaves us looking stronger as February moves on. I won’t feel we’ve been...

    Jonathan Rowe

But is that because of how Norwich ask him to play? In the highlights reel I saw, he was sometimes playing very wide.

    Jonathan Rowe

Well, if the Nusa train has sailed (see Raya and Todibo) then Rowe would be a very good alternative from what I’ve seen (see Vicario and Dragusin). Looks comfortable left, right, or more centrally. Can take a man on inside or outside.

    Mid-window review: ins/outs?

Gallagher is an odd one. Does he really start over any of Bissouma, Bentancur, Sarr or Maddison? I’d say no. However, would he add better depth than Hojbjerg, Skipp and Lo Celso, I’d say so. Are we really going to pay £40-60m (depending on what you believe) for a squad depth player. That said...

Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing move for Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe

Ok. I’m quite sold on him. Proper dynamic attacker. Looks equally as comfortable wide left or wide right, able to strike the ball well with either foot, power and accuracy, plus able to take players on inside or outside.

    Next DoF

So, I assumed the appointments of Munn, Lange, Leth and Mackenzie meant we had our sporting/technical directors and scouting in place. However, the media are linking us with Marco Neppe, just released by Bayern today. We were linked in the past, so is this just lazy journalism or are we really...

    Arthur Vermeeren

Kind of makes me wonder if Rowe is worth looking at closely.

    Arthur Vermeeren

Not sure we’d need Illing-Junior if we have Nusa. Now Werner, Dragusin, Nusa and Vermeeren with summer moves for Bardghji, Calafiori and a new no2 keeper. I’m waiting to see if Richarlison, Werner and Son can do the business for us first.

    Mid-window review: ins/outs?

Rethought my ‘wants’ for January. Reality - a solid 7 out of 10 so far. Werner, clever low risk addition in an area we needed support. Dragusin, really really smart signing. Size, athleticism and technical on the ball, but also very comfortable right or left side, so will fit great with Romero...

    Arthur Vermeeren

That’s the reality of it. Vermeeren and Nusa together may be a similar financial package to getting Gallagher in. But could end up being worth double if their development is managed well. I’d rather go that path right now. Develop and build a solid foundation of talent rather than buy up a...
