Holtby's future is as a deep lying midfield I think. He's just not quite suited for it yet because he needs to learn how to use his aggression a little more intelligently. His desire to win the ball combined with his movement and passing ability would make it seem like his future is sitting...
We have been on a good run of form, but it has also felt slightly fortunate. The defense has looked spastic, but competent all season, but recently they have been riding their luck. City won't be as forgiving as Southampton/Swansea and the like. Unless City suddenly forget how to finish. We'd...
Not to rain on your parades, but the game since Capoue has come on has been way more wide open. It is easier to look good. This is the "Tom Huddlestone" effect. Still excited about Capoue though.
Lennon is getting way too much flack. All of our chances have come from the right side. The left has been abysmal. Watching Rose and Chadli is painful. Hopefully they will step up their game.
Team needs to play the ball long to Adebayor more when teams sit back on us and decide to soak up the pressure. Adebayor was giving their back line trouble in the air and almost put Holtby through, but it was called back by an unjust foul on Adebayor. Put pressure on their defense this way...
Also to the constant citing of his stats; Darren Bent is always good for a decent goal return, but we all hated having hin in the squad. Not saying Dempsey is Bent, but it is worth noting. To be fair to hin we were all spoiled by VdV.
I think Holtby is a better player. Not that I hate Dempsey, I'm an American, but he is just a squad player. I'm glad we have him, but don't want to see him starting every match is all. He is very Defoe like in terms of how I feel when I watch him play. Wasteful on the ball, but has an eye for...
The fact that he will put in a defensive shift and randomly win you a few games a season in the attack makes him quite the player. Is he world class, maybe not, but he is effin good.
