    Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

Bruno is also playing in a much more confident and functional team. He was the final piece of the puzzle for them. GLC is playing deeper than originally planned and is basically carrying the whole team on his back. You just can't compare them fairly right now.

Backup striker and stopping Jose from being able to pick Lucas, double whammy.

    Manager watch: Jose Mourinho

I do agree with this, however the squad appears to have a real confidence issue this season which is also making them look worse than they are too. With the right surgery in the key areas mentioned and a solid gameplan we can be competitive again. Jose is making mistakes too, I fully agree...

    ENIC...

This is the only thing keeping me from jumping on the 'we're going back to mid-table for the forseeable future' and the 'when Kane leaves I'm done' bandwagons. My worry is whether we have the right conditions to recover this time. You'd hope Mourinho has enough about him to fix us if backed...

Match Threads Sheffield United vs Spurs - Match Thread

I think you are right. The sad/scary thing is that I don't think we have the money or the manager for such a rebuild.

    Manager watch: Jose Mourinho

I've been a pretty vocal backer of Mourinho on here, and I'm definitely in the camp that says he deserves a summer window and preseason to be judged properly. That said part of me is hoping there's a mutual get out clause in Jose's contract. As mentioned by others earlier in the thread I think...

Match Threads Sheffield United vs Spurs - Match Thread

They are all highly motivated ahead of the Saudi takeover. Proof if ever of the importance of mentality in sport. We seem to be having issues with motivation and confidence, and when paired with inadequate defensive players it's what has led to this clusterf**k of a season. I thought the first...

    Club Statement - Pochettino leaves

I think Poch just needed a break and a chance to refocus. It all just got too much for him after the CL Final loss. All the hard yards for no tangible success (although he obviously did a fantastic job). I'm sure there was genuine sadness between him and Levy when he left but deep down both...

    Race for The Top 10

I think your last couple of paragraphs suggested it probably is worthwhile over the balance of things. I think I'm content either way, but I'd love to see us go far in it and blood more youngsters. The performance of English teams in the EL has increased significantly since the addition of a...

    Race for The Top 10

Everyone at the club knows the tough situation we came back into. The damage from the injuries at the turn of the year was just too much. The key is to end strongly and carry some momentum into next season. If we do that then we can be positive going into next season, regardless of what European...

    Player Watch: Tanguy Ndombele

Jose has explained himself pretty well on why Tanguy didn't play. He used 3 different players across the two games in CM and three different number 10s. Neither game particularly developed in a way where he was suited to come on. Had we not scored when we did against West Ham he may well have...

    Player Watch: Tanguy Ndombele

Totally agree with your posts. At the end of the day it's down to Tanguy to force Jose's hand just like Lo Celso did. That's by application in training and taking his chances on the pitch. GLC won Jose over with effort as much as his quality early only. Tanguy has shown plenty of the latter but...

    Player Watch: Harry Kane

Looked much more like the real Harry Kane today. Great to see. Absolutely love the guy. Was a bit worried after Friday but he was much more like it today. Plenty of shots and powerful running on his goal and the counter attack where he narrowly missed. The way he burst through and took his goal...

    Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

Comfortably the best player on the pitch and I don't even think he was bang on it today. He has so much upside. Unlucky not to have two assists today from CM (Son disallowed goal and Kane's left footed chance). So much upside. He showed at Betis he can score goals, if he can bring that here he...
