Player Watch: Georges-Kévin N'Koudou

Thought he did more than o.k tbh - certainly his work in the middle third of the pitch was good, some good passing and some good hold up play. The least impressive bit was when he was facing up to a defender and 1 on 1....which was the bit you'd expect him to be best at tbh ! Maybe lacking in confidence though so even that part could improve ?

I wouldn't be calling on him to be given a chance at Spurs just yet, but equally, like many others, im baffled why he can't find a club to play regularly at - see plenty worse than him most saturdays.

imo he did everything right - nearly set up a few, ran into the right areas, pressed hard and defended well, did some decent take-ons. He's obviously not wanting in terms of effort or application.

I'd go as far as to say he did as much as any other player would probably have done in similar circumstances (pre-season game against a decent side).

He and Janssen are weird ones.

Young. Rated before their respective moves to us. Came to us. Flopped hard. Can't shift for love nor money.

FIN.

Nkoudou is indeed an odd one. Watch his highlight reel prior to signing, and he had pace and ability in the final third. But lately he looks so lacking confidence that he shows almost no attacking intent at all.
I’d hoped he’d be included as part of the Sessegnon deal, gives them a wide attacker and with regular football he could rediscover his confidence.
I do wonder, as other have said, could he be moulded into a LWB, but then if it’s betwen him and Georgiou for a project option like that, then Georgiou is homegrown so gets the vote for me. Just so long as we don’t put KWP out on the left again, leave him where he’s happier on the right.

He's right footed. Would rather a FB play on their correct foot.

Does he want to move to a Championship club though? Surely he'd consider that a step down from where he was in France a few seasons ago. And unfortunately his wages make a move back there difficult...

Think its a late-window loan with a view, to somebody whose primary targets have fallen through.

Think a newly promoted club would make a lot of sense as most of them struggle for depth and that's typically their downfall. Out of the three clubs, maybe a team like Norwich? Sheffield United will play a 3-5-2 most likely and I don't see the fit there, and Aston Villa look pretty set on the left side of attack with Trezeguet/Andre Green.

So I don't know where else to put this, or even what it refers to, but it feels like it should be discussed loooolll

Judging by his mouth, I’d say this is a still from the film.

Interesting that he chooses to wear his old Tottenham kit while making whoopi with his beloved

I can. Nobody wants him because he’s not good enough. Surely a championship club could afford him though. Even at a couple of million selling him is better than keeping him.

I could see him and Onomah in a deal including Sessegnon

What I don't get is why is it so fucking hard to shift the crap in our squad? Other teams seem to be able to offload dross at high fees to other clubs. N'koudou is taking up a foreign space in the squad too, which makes it worse.

Absolute epic fail, whoever brought him in.

yes - Bournemouth got 10 million for Mousset he was a sub-standard substitute all season

I need proof
Njie thought he was reading the news on his phone but actually he was livestreaming some girl giving him a shine. It's an easy mistake to make.

Probably not a popular opinion but I don't think he's that bad. When I've seen him on the pitch he's been OK, certainly not outstanding but not the worst player I've ever seen.

Clearly in training he's not doing enough to warrant regular game time, but surely he's good enough for a team somewhere. I wonder if he's on quite decent wages (comparable to his talent) which is why he's difficult to move on. If this is the case it'll probably be another loan move with us carrying some of the wage bill.

I'm stunned we can't sell him. Other teams seem to be able to get rid of players who have their legs stapled together. GKN clearly has talent and seems like an alright guy, so fuck knows. Maybe we need to employ a new sales fluffer?

It's a bizarre situation as I always feel he shows some intent and threat when he has played but clearly lacks something that means he doesn't get a look in. It's been the same at Monaco and Burnley as well so can't just be Poch. I'm always staggered how average players get moved on for loads of money and yet we can't even give our flops away?

And, to save anyone else the effort, he's packing about as much through the middle as his performances for us.

P.S. I wish i was joking.

P.P.S. Still not as bad as watching Katie Price getting a toe job from Dane Bowers.

Wasn’t there talk of a contract termination in the works? Surely we need to just get this lemon off the books sooner than later. The fact that nobody has come in for him in several windows, coupled with his failed loan at Burnley surely shows he’s way beyond the level required. Otherwise you’d think one of the typical “average player retirement home clubs” would have come in for him.
