Another thing I’m very much looking forward to is having a real bench. Today we had Alli, Lo Celso, and Moura all available to come on and make and impact. Going forward we’ll probably also have Dier and Sissoko as our midfield subs.

We’re going to have a collection of subs who can actually come on and make in impact in a lot of ways. Been awhile since that was the case.

Dele hasn't been called up by Southgate so we won't have to witness a half fit Dele being savaged by England supporters.

I feel a lot better than 3 days ago.

First Poch's conference.
Today's performance and result
Lo Celso
Players returning
Poch's post match interview
Window closing tomorrow.

Hopefully we can get Toby and Jan tied down at least.

Then get Dybala or Fernandes in January

Positive performance and clear drive and commitment shown. I’d have taken a point before the game......very pleased and relieved.

Eriksen is staying for 3 months. Once that pre contract is signed in January, he will stop playing even more so than he did after last January.

To his detriment then, he can't afford to let his head drop.

This is beyond good news. We need to protect those hamstrings and get him back in the team as much as possible. Get the old gang back together.

There’s been considerable angst, anxiety and despair lately, and while squandering a two goal lead at Arsenal isn’t great, I have hope:

While we are still a fragmented team, we showed some bright counterattacking football today.

We haven’t really benefited from Ndombele and GLC yet but both are technically decent players that will enhance us significantly.

Clearly we need a more defensive minded midfielder to partner Tanguy when he returns- a rejuvenated Dier has performed this role with efficiency before. And he’s still young.

Eriksen is staying, for at least a season. He was better today. Imagine him and Lo Celso on the same pitch, controlling the tempo and feeding Kane.

Sessegnon will give us something else out wide- either as a LW or a LWB. His and Davies bring available will put pressure on Rose to up his game.

The return of Jan- greatly needed.

Poch committing. Goodbye uncertainty.

Right back will evidently be a priority either January or next Summer. Clearly this is an issue at the moment.

Anyone expecting us to win the league this year are being unrealistic, but we are in good shape for the future. With the exception of Bellerin, Arsenal were at full strength today. We are still reforming. I expect us to be outperforming them by November/December.

Up the motherfucking Spurs
Love it

If you're going to call the thread 'Reasons to be Cheerful, then I think it only fair I respond in Ian Dury fashion.

I have faith in the entire squad, so my reasons to be cheerful this season are as follows...

Tanguy Ndombele;
Lo Celso and our Dele;
Poch (calmer on the telly);
Jan's back.
Christian is remaining;
Sess has started training;
Erik needs restraining
(near Jack).

Our last-gasp hero Moura;
Harry our top goal scorer;
Toby with his calm aura;
and Dav.
Hugo with the gloves on;
God, I fucking love Son;
Et Moussa, il est tres bon,
le brave.

Winksy keeps it ticking;
Eric enjoys kicking;
And Dan with his man sticking;
Ben too.
Gazza, our back-up keeper;
Foyth, a future sweeper;
Skipp, who plays best deeper
('tis true).

Reasons to be cheerful.

Feel more positive, despite the points dropped

We do however need to scour the earth for a top class right-back to accompany Dybala through the in-door in January...

I'm cheerful about Lo Celso based simply on this:

The bloke arrives late on deadline day; on a a loan.

We've all seen how Ndombele has struggled with Poch's fitness regime and that's despite having an entire pre-season, compared to zero.

Despite this lack of preseason, Poch has thrown this guy on late against Man City away as they were howling for CL revenge (unsuccessful); late at NWHL as a sullen and angry home crowd muttered as we struggled to find a way through against Newcastle (puts a ball in for a stonewall Kane pen not awarded)

And finally comes on in the heat of a North London Derby AWAY and looks assured and not panicked.

Poch trusts this bloke.

So do I.

It was vitally important we went into this break with a good feeling, European Transfer Window closes 2mo & our players can enjoy some time with their National Team, Everyone injured currently should also be very close to being back after the 2 week break, Looking forward to seeing Sess get some game time
