Guys, when was the Son opportunity to square it? I thought Dele's was the biggest waste (when he shot and the 'keeper tipped wide) because Kane had loads of space to run into, which should've resulted in an open goal tap-in at the far post.

You're right, I think - it was Dele...

Lamela is the one who I thought would always pick out the pass. Still fuming he shot instead of passing to Kane

I hope stuff like that gets talked about in the debrief

It's unacceptable

I saw that, and the commentator was giving Lamela shit but the replay showed that the pass was never on as Kane was too far forward with the defender blocking the pass. But commentators never get it wrong

The only reason they complained about it was because of Kane's look of disgust at not being given the ball, even though Lamela was in a better position to shoot and had the roles been reversed, Kane would have also taken the shot as it really was the best course of action.

I'm sick of seeing our players not squaring the ball. If you look at City, Barca etc their players are far less selfish in those situations.

The pass to Kane was never really on. Doesn’t mean he couldn’t have attempted to just drill it acros the goal I guess, but then taking a shot like he did was just as viable an option drilling it across.

But would have scored which is a key difference

Sadly, that Wednesday night we weren't living in that alternate universe in which Harry Kane was playing sharply enough to produce some goal scoring opportunities himself (well, besides being lucky enough to get tripped by an oponent at the far edge of the GK area).
