Atal has been playing LW all season.

I apologize if this is against the grain, but I don't want somebody who's been playing LW all season to come in at right back halfway through the season and be our savior in defense
Perriera also played a fair bit in midfield for Nice and people doubted him defensively. Ultimately if you’ve got a lot of pace you can get away with a lot of dozy defending as we saw with Walker over the years.

So who are we going to buy then, because I can think of two names who have been mentioned in here so far that are probably in our budget ... Not sure I have read a lot else that even links us with either quality or affordable players.

Okay I'm going to throw some names into the conversation that I've not seen mentioned. (They obviously could have been mentioned before but let's just roll with it)

Nikola Milenković
Fiorentina
Centre back.
Absolute beast of a defender at Fiorentina, very good on the ball.

Jhon Lucumi
Genk
Centre back.
Complete rock and a Columbian mate for Davinson.

Teun Koopmeiners
AZ
Defensive midfielder.
Left footed Dutch Xabi Alonso re-gen.

Dwight McNeil
Burnley
Winger.
Great dribbling, crossing, and much more creative than people give him credit for. Think he'll be ready and get a big move in the summer.

I think we are forgetting about Andersen who is stating looking good for Lyon. We waited 1 year for Ndombele - can wait also for him

ps Koulibaly is set to leave Napoli

are we sure atal isn't just all jets and not a lot else?

I've not seen enough of Atal to comment, but if this is the case we might as well just have kept DeAndre Yedlin!

To be honest though, if Atal's playing on the left wing at the moment, that surely implies that he must have some level of technique.

I do think it's essential that our full backs are quick and have good delivery from out wide though.

Zagadou has looked like an absolute colossus on the few occasions I’ve seen him. He was making noises about moving in the summer, or at least that was reported.

Please, please sign him so we can instantly upgrade our player songs repertoire to include the brilliantly camp Xanadu

Most importantly, the Dutch DM guy could also take Eriksen’s spot as the token premature balding guy on our Hair Club.

Weird how we pushed for Saliba but no other CB targets made it to the press this summer. I like the look of Badiashile from Monaco, but he's really young.

Mcneil's a great shout, feel he could operate centrally given the chance. Great player, will be at a "top 6" club probably next season

Ive seen him a few times and I’m not sure his final ball/product is good enough. He seems to make the wrong decision more often than not. Maybe I just caught his underwhelming games.

We’ve seen a lot of links to attacking players and I just think that we’re fine there both short and long term. What we need is a spine. Defensive midfielder, centre back, those are the priorities. Then right back (depending on what Foyth does there) and maybe left back (depending on the evolution of Sessegnon).

If we are linked with an attacking player I suspect it’s bollocks.
