Memphis was dreadful at United but seems all of the hype and attention got to his head. He is flying with Lyon and he could be a very good #10 or wide forward for us. Wide forward isn’t the biggest need but the more quality throughout the squad, the better. I remember rumors that we almost signed him the summer that United did.

We don't need another CM, but if we could get Exequiel Palacios from River, it would be a huge coup. 25m would get him imo (his release clause is 15m euro). He's a potential starter for a top 5 team in europe in the coming years imo.
He was a signature away from signing for Real Madrid and an injury prevented the move.
The next window will be the only chance we have to get him imo
Love him.

I believe Hercules has stated that Poch loves him too.

He has amazing vision, looks quite similar to ndombele.

Could replace Eriksen in the squad, if we moved to a 433

I think in January we have to get at least 2 out of 3 from a RB, CB and DM.

In the summer we get the 1 of those positions we couldn't get in January and then look for a wing forward so we can move to a proper 433. Possibly another CM option.

According to Bleacher Report (yep, I know), we’re looking at Ziyech and Upamecano from Leipzig in January. Possibly a RB.

Hard to feel enthusiastic about this tread right now, it used to be the most exiting one when moving closer to january.

Will be so much harder to attract top players.

I've said it before and will say again. Sell Dele. Eriksen off too. Bring in Ziyech and Isco.

I like the kid at QPR too..Eze.

Yup. To be honest, I stopped getting hopes up for the January windows a while ago. For us, it's more a window for an opportunistic purchase....or if we were in serious threat of getting dragged into a relegation battle, Levy would throw money to try and get us out of it. Apart from that, don't see us seeing the window as an opportunity to seriously fix weak areas in the team with quality, first choice targets.

Gotta be honest, I find Isco at this point to be incredibly overrated.

He had one assist last season. For a #10 that is terrible.

If his release clause is 15m, why on earth would anyone pay 25m?

Because the player won't accept leaving for the realease clause. Real Madrid's offer was 20m 1 year ago
Inter Milan is constantly scouting the player. So if you want to beat anyone you should pay a little extra. That's why I said 25m

How does the transfer fee affect the player?

Leipzig will be absolutely up to it selling an important prospect and piece of a title challenging side in January to us, who are well known paying over the odds and making offers that can not turned down. :playful:

Zero chance and Leipzig does not need a penny, they are Red-Bull-rich.

But say Madrid offer 15m and we offer 25m, surely the 15m still has to be accepted and then it would be up to him to chose club

Exactly, a release clause means the club has to accept offers from the club if offering enough to meet the clause.

Could be a Rupstoh moment coming up.

Agreed. The only thing in our favour (and we’ll definitely not be the only team in for him) is he’s refusing to sign a new deal and has a season and a half left on his contract.
