A match far not as close as the scoreline suggests, with some great attacking play almost undone by sloppy defending and our seemingly customary wetting if the bed towards the end.

Dele my man of the match.

Gazzaniga was generally ok but a still feel he was overall too hesitant in situations where he could’ve come out, both for crosses and 1v1s. Almost found himself injured due to this indecisiveness. Additionally, I’m not convinced about his starting position for the free kick, the shit was as close to the middle of the goal as the corner and not hard hit.

Aurier again kept getting into dangerous attacking positions and kept Bournemouth pegged back well, while also showing composure in his own area a couple of time’s to bring the ball out safely. However, he did seem to get beaten or passed around a little too often today.

Sanchez was relatively solid, harshly denied a goal and dealt well with Wilson who was determined to try to bully him.

Alderweireld played two beautiful passes for both Dele’s goal and overall defended well, seemed more confident today than he has done lately.

Vertonghen was relatively quiet, hitting a could of lovely cross field passes but not getting forward himself in keeping with the hybrid lb/lcb role. He was beaten for pace a couple of times.

Dier wasn’t awful but he wasn’t great either. A couple of key clearances but he looked ponderous and saw little if the ball, though in part that’s likely because his midfield partner saw more of the ball than anyone else bar Sanchez.

Ndombele was a mixed bag, some lovely skill, one phenomenal dribble, and very quick to bring the ball out while always looking for a key pass. That said, he lost the ball sloppily a couple of times and dribbled in situations where he might’ve been better off keeping it simple. Still, prefer having him there than not.

Sissoko has a good game on the whole, linking well with Aurier and some great pressing. He protected his full back well and scored a beautiful volley. That said, for Bournemouth’s second goal he was too easily beaten by the player running into the area, it was right in front of me and he should have been stronger.

Dele was sensational. Two great goals, should’ve scored a third, key pass for our third, constant driving forward with the ball and tasty passes and that hit with the outside of his boot to set Son free from deep in our half was simply sumptuous.

Son was very good, our biggest threat on the counter, lovely link ups with Dele and realer the rewards, twice, for playing with his head up and playing in Dele/ crossing for Sissoko. Not sure how he didn’t score when Dele put him clear.

Kane wasn’t his very best, but he worked hard, held the ball well, worked the channels and brought others into play. Looks like he has fire in his belly.

Lucas managed a couple of nice dribbles and one important header.

Lo Celso and Winks barely affected anything.

I'm going to say Gazzaniga on the count of not realistically being expected to do anything about either of the two goals, but more so due to the fact that he has literally getting kicked to bits (players seemed to be looking at him rather than the ball) and he soldiered on and didn't let it affect him.

Gazza was poor on both goals.

As BBL-Gin said he was poorly positioned for the free kick and the ball didn’t go in the corner... Gazza got nowhere near it.

Second goal went through him.

He was also poor on some crosses and indecisive.

He’s a decent number 2 but certainly not a number 1.

Looks like he's the new scapegoat then
Not a scapegoat for me, I really like him and could see him becoming number 1, I just feel that today he could've done a couple of things better and that the free kick wasn't hard hit or particularly far away, albeit high (but he is a very tall goalkeeper).

Don't blame him for the second goal, if anything it should have been called offside as there was on offside Bournemouth player directly in front of him and in his line of sight.

Hey, who cares about shot stopping and goal keeping, a goal keeper only need to have good distribution.

This kind of defending, Lloris has to put up with throughout his career with us, his goal keeping skills has been covering the "cracks" for so long, yet critics never stop harping about "distribution" when that attribute is not even a prerequisite for a keeper

Look at the clown Ederson. He can distribute, but can he keep clean sheets?

Dele. Feels like a new, world class signing having him go back to what made him great. Goes to show that firstly, he needs to be playing in a role that suits his style and abilities. Secondly, it is also shows how important confidence is for a player. He looks sure of himself. And i get the feeling he will get better as the season progresses. Today he was a solid 8 for me. Would've been 9, if he hadn't made a couple of poor passes and took some of those chances. But this is a start over, reset for him. So there will be some bad still mixed in with the good. Eventually he'll stamp that out of his game altogether.

Special mention to Sissoko. Loved how happy the players were for him after his excellent goal. Shows team spirit is strong and that they all must really respect Moussa.

Dele. He just thrives on those long balls and Toby is the man to supply them.

Another good run out for Aurier and Verts did OK at LB. Son full of running and a goal for Sissoko (nearly fell off my seat).

We need to sort out DM in Jan as a top priority IMO.

Well above average.........Dele (MOM). Nearly the player we thought he'd become. Regards to your brother.
Above average..................Back 4, Son, Kane
Average................................Gazza,
Below Average..................Dier, Ndombele. Toss up for which of these is the least fit.

Special Goal Award..........Sissoko. You can't help but love a tryer.

Jose........................................Another game another win but conceding 2 goals a game is most un-Mourinho like.

Long balls, short balls, balls in the channels, that's the beauty, the more varied our attack, the harder for the opponent to set up and hence stop us, long may it continue.
Mom. Dele ofc... Closely followed by Sissoko.
Can't wait for Jose to have a couple of windows and sort out the positions that we all know need fixing.

Interesting watching these early Mourinho days. It is something like when your kids get to see and have all the new stuff at xmas and sometimes end up playing with the boxes and wrapping paper. That was the team I would have picked yesterday bar Winks for Dier. Believe he was intent on making it up to our amicable ambling athlete. Of more interest is Mourinho's tactical tweaking. We were 3 5 2 with the ball and recovering to four at the back when we lost it. The major problem with this was Son ending up as de facto left wing back in the process. Listening to Mourinho he may be giving Sessegnon a run out left if he persists with this asymmetrical approach. Personally, would have Winks in the pivot distributor role not Dier...He has quicker feet. NDombele is a weird one. As I said here before a sports car with at present, just an Hillman Imp engine under the bonnet. I have never seen a professional footballer more continually off balance with the ball. A mystery.
Gazza 6 Needs to hold more
Vert 7 Never went over halfway in this system...wont start Wednesday
Toby 8 Liked what he did
Sanchez 7.5 Raw but committed
Aurier 7 God forbid he ever has to defend for any period of time...glad to see him smiling
Dier 5.5 Should have been withdrawn on the hour...too slow to distribute
Dele 9 Floating on air. Flicks and touches coming off....making those runs again!
Kane 6.5 Will be grumpy not scoring today but that is good
Son 7 Had too to do far too much goal side recovery stuff in this system...still good enough to make first goal
Ndombele 6 Won't see him start against United...very atypical as a footballer
Sissoko 7.5 Lovely to see him get the goal ...a cracker...clocked off for one of the goals
Moura 6 Buzzed around
Lo Celso NET
Winks NET

Mourinho 8 Like his attitude...he realises that the luck has run for us...Dier wont start Wednesday....need a worker left side to free up Son

Gazza - 7 - Did everything you’d expect him too.
Aurier - 7 - Got up and down the right wing all game.
Toby - 8 - Two great long passes for our first two goals.
Sanchez - 8 - Defending wise our best player today.
Verts - 7 - Looked slow and a bit sloppy first half (understandable after a period out injured) but grew into the game. World class tackle at the end
Dier - 5 - Looks heavy, doesn’t offer much protection. Slow passing.
Ndombele - 7 - Better 2nd half than first, but at times looked like he was not putting the right amount of effort in. On one occasion he gave up on chasing a player when they broke and Kane over took him to put a tackle in. Kane also then went past him the other way when we attacked after winning the ball back. He also gave away a very cheap free kick on the edge of our box that they scored their first from. Undoubtedly very talented, and probably our best CM, but needs to improve in terms of effort and discipline.
Sissoko - 8 - He scored … a great technical execution too!
Dele - 9 - MOTM - Two nicely taken goals, could have had three. Some lovely passing and flicks as well. Properly back on it.
Son - 7 - Not his best. As always, puts a really good shift I’m. but blew a 1:1 and isn’t looking as sharp as usual around the box.
Kane - 7 - Not often we score three and he isn’t on the score sheet. Played well though and put a real shift in.

Moura - 7.5 - Was ‘on it’ from the minute he came on. Won tackles, headers and looked dangerous.
Winks & Lo Celso - n/a

Mourinho - 7.5 - 3 wins from 3, and he got to see a few more players. He still needs to sort out the late collapses. Dier was always starting this after be hooked early on Tuesday, but slowly Jose is weeding out the players whose poor form Poch ignored - Eriksen, Rose, Winks …

A word about Gazzinaga I thought his kicking out of the ball was excellent there was no aimless kicking upfield and he was at all times trying to pick someone out and I found it refreshing and was a help to the forwards play.
