Pretty poor but once again individual errors cost us two goals. Maybe a trifle ambitious starting with Kane, Son, Dele & Moura for an away game , it was OK against Hammers but our record at OT not the greatest so a bit more defensive line up may be in order for the future.

Crazy thing is, or rather sad thing is, they still beat us because our keeper chucked one in and Sissoko did something daft.

They were better than us but we still handed them the win. As has been said it was the Champions League final in miniature.

I wish José had stuck with his initial ideas, only he knows why he restored the Winks/Sissoko pairing.

On one level it’s good Mourinho has seen that, that's all our players gave Poch for much of the season. He has now looked in to the eyes of the thing he must kill.
I must admit when they were spurning chances I thought they would live to regret them. Once we equalised I started to think it was gunna be one of those games where we weathered the storm and would get stronger.

That's why the Sissoko pen was so infuriating. It would have completely destroyed the ht team talk which I'm sure would have been to build on the momentum we had started to gain. Mourinho alluded to this in his post match interview.

This group of players is continuously shooting themselves in the foot now and they don't have the will to drag themselves out of it.

It's been like this, with this squad, for a year.

Count the times Spurs have given the game to the opposition again since Burnley at the start of the this year.

Mentality, in sport in general, is a large part of what separates winners from losers.

Yep. The mental ability that Poch had instilled has pretty much gone.

Jose needs to be allowed to bring in several players who he believes have that edge about them because the likes of Sissoko, Vertonghen, Aurier, Rose, Dier, Hugo and possibly Winks are done here - they've either all had their chance to win us something or have made a major mistake one two many times.

I hope Levy is willing to splash out on a new defence.

Thats the bit that made me angry last night.
Performance was shit, but the first goal came from a defensive error followed by a goalkeeping error, defenders make mistakes, Gazza is only filling in, I get that.
But the penalty was just so fucking stupid to give away.

Sissoko has actually got off incredibly lightly for his handball in the champions league final. It was pure stupidity to have his arm pointing out like that in the area.

He was at fault for goals in the West Ham and Bournemouth games too. Surely it won’t be long before Mourinho works out we are better without him on the pitch.

Too many individual players who think they are good enough to win trophys and that they just need to be playing in a better team and being paid more money and it will magically happen. Pathetic.

Kane gives a good interview about winning, but why isn't he shouting the same stuff into his team mates faces during the match?

Nice to see Dele getting back to his old self, but its for himself i think rather than for the team/club. Improve form, request move.

Interesting comments he made in the post match press conference about being unable to train NH intensity and aggression with the constant stream of games.

I suspect this was a similar problem that pochettino would have faced and was the cause of our inability to maintain the press.

Tactically I think Man United set up exactly to diffuse our right back from pushing up too far by playing rashford wide on the left. Without that width I'll play became quite predictable and we made a lot what of this place passes behind the back line

It was a brainless play. Just brainless. Jose has often said the one thing a player must have is intelligence. It's difficult to achieve anything without that.

I'm guessing Sissoko is going bye bye before too long and likely at a loss. Suck it up, Daniel.

A very poor performance, the sort, if under a longer serving manager, 'gets him the sack'. Utterly spiritless and lacking in tactical nous. It's clear that Mourinho has no magic wand to transform the team, and we're likely to see more of this rubbish without a major change of personnel. Hopefully we'll never see Winks and Sissoko teamed up again though.

I don't agree it was 'spiritless' or no effort. On reflection I think we incorrectly went to Old Trafford believing that 3 past results (ours and Utds) would this affect this game. We were too open and too far away from each other instead of compacting the midfield and quieting the crowd until we could see where to control.

I said this in another match thread, I think he's gone in the summer. That's not me necessarily wanting him gone, just that I think he will be sold. His value will be fairly high.

It's best for both parties. I can't dislike the guy. He's a trier. With crazy football inflation, you could well be right. At least break even territory possibly.

To think mourinho didn't know how to play against his own team... Or is it that our players are too stupid to follow instructions?

That was unacceptable yesterday and as bad anything poch served up

He could do a good job in a midtable PL side. Otherwise most teams in France would probably have him. Still an international and all.

simply not true. for about two years Walker and Rose were the best FB combination in the prem and that was widely acknowledged here.

What?!?
There was a never ending dribble of complaints about walkers brain-farts. It was only once he went to City that everyone started raving about his brilliance...
