I don’t think it’s particularly fair to judge him on that game. Bayern absolutely flood the midfield with huge talent. Getting the ball in there is one thing, making anything of it after that is another.

I’ve been impressed so far and today won’t change my opinion of him.

In a game where we had 30% possession, I'm not sure we can judge much other than how well he managed to run around. He still showed some good footwork in the buildup to our goal so that's something.

I'm with Yid121 though, he wasn't suited to the role he was given tonight.

Poor showing tonight, lacked effort and did very little tracking back. Showed a couple of glimpses going forward but nothing to write home about.

He did ok. Playing where he did though it became very apparent how completely one footed he is.

He did ok with the ball but as soon as he lost the ball he basically ambled and jogged back... i dont think he will have impressed Jose... then again many wouldnt have impressed.

He did look a tad disinterested

Needless to say he didn’t took his chance at all. Massive disappointment. And he can pack that La Liga nonsense-dive away.

Absolutely still giving him more time to prove himself. Guess nobody wanted him to fail after the epic tracking him of his flight during transfer window here in SC.

But some of us just wanted to see a greater desire and commitment. Even in the wrong position, we don't see Sissoko given up on tirelessly running and defending when the team is in need of defending. Positive influence comes in all forms. Son induces positivity even from his smiles.

Definitely was played out of position tonight and it’s also not a good game to judge. The whole thing was disjointed and we probably all expected that.

He does look like a number 10 to me though, not a central midfielder. Looks classy on the ball but doesn’t look like he’s going to retain it under pressure. More the sort of player who can play a one-two, turn the ball round the corner for a striker etc.

The issue he’ll have is competing for that spot with Dele, who is clearly Mourinho’s first choice number 10.

Disappointing given it was his big chance to impress

Didn’t put himself about enough and not nearly enough quality on the ball the little he saw of it. Need to look after the ball much better in a game like that.

Not a good watch for Jose!

It is true he wasn't given the opportunity to show what he is capable of doing when playing in his prefered position. But he did show what he isn't willing to do with his lack of tracking back and general commitment to the team. He left KWP in the lurch. He isn't going to be starting ahead of Dele so he was given the opportunity to play in the position he is most likely to challenge for. Mourinho made a real point of praising Moura the other day for his defensive endeavours and commitment to the team's "defensive process". GLC didn't do himself any favours tonight.

Thought he was tidy enough with the ball at his feet. His pressing left a bit to be desired. Although I don't think the tactics of hoofing the ball long to a player who likes the ball to feet helped much.

Spot on tbf. Like many said already, it's early days still so plenty of time to prove himself.

Really hope he does.

I don’t think Jose sees him as a CM, and he won’t be getting in starting 11 in the more attacking role ahead of dele any time soon. And his application tonight was not that of a man determined to prove his worth.

Disappointing. I can’t blame Jose for not starting him in more important games.

Looked ok in patches moving forward, but seemed to have no interest in helping out KWP, or overexerting himself in general.

Not sure he's overly happy at the club tbh.

He definitely looked like he had a sulk on. Very noticeable lack of effort off the ball and to be honest he was poor on the ball too.

This 100% he’s a n.o 10 or an 8 not a wide player.

Agreed looked tidy, and tactics were not ideal for him, plus its not his best position tucked out wide right. He had a thank less task of just chasing and running around and didnt help with KWP on that side, lazy dane to his left and not real support from Def Mid. I would have much preferred to see him in the position Eriksen was playing.
