We were forced into that as A we had no one else we could play up front and don’t say parrot he’s not ready for that and B they pressed and hassled us high so we were forced into hitting long clearances as our midfield was shite compared to theirs.

Our midfield was shite and outnumbered, and when we played the ball long, in the unlikely event that Moura could have knocked it down, the player most likely in a position to challenge for the second ball was Eriksen (who couldn't tackle a hamster). Should have, IMO, dropped Lo Celso back into CM on the left so that Sissoko could be more effective helping KWP. We had Eriksen wandering about twiddling his thumbs and Dier and Sissoko unable to cope with what was coming through the middle, let alone help out in wider positions. When Skipp came on he tightened things up quite a bit, but by then it was too late. CM pivot is costing us against energetic teams.

What I find encouraging is that Jose must now know what all us supporters already knew
(a) Walker Peters = no
(b) Rose = no
(c) Dier =no
(d) Eriksen = no
(e) Mora =iffy
(f) LoCelso =unproven
(g) Sissoko = cannot play as a holding midfielder
(h) Foyth = thumbs up
(i) Sessegnon = Thumbs up
Overall a lot learned and he now knows a few he cannot rely on .
Skipp = ?

Curious why he didnt play Troy we seem to lack a focal point in attack , someone to lead the line

Maybe he was worried about us getting dicked again so didn’t want to leave Son and Lucas at home but also didn’t want to leave a South Korean and a Brazilian international on the bench after dragging them all the way to Germany and playing a kid instead.

So he learned Moura isn’t tall enough to be a target man. What does he need to learn next, how good Sonny is in goal? Whether Wanyama can play left wing? Can a small piece of cheese put in more effort than Eriksen?

He just threw Moura out there. He knows what Moura did for him in the games he picked him for.Mourinho didn't care about Moura in this one. He threw him and Son out there instead of Harry. He knows how well they have been playing why would he need to worry about them.
What he was looking at were players who havent played and mostly through defence and mid

Jose hopes we understand what happened last night. I do. I don't think any tactics would have made up for the discrepancies in personnel between the two sides. It was a good learning experience for Jose. It was almost a pre-season friendly for him.

I think Foyth, Sessegnon and to a lesser extent Skipp all benefited greatly. Full backs and CM were badly exposed, which won't be a surprise to anyone. Eriksen needs to be moved on ASAP. The big downer was that GLC had a poor showing and was hooked shortly after HT.

Sessegnon looks to be a great athlete and his pace should be a very useful weapon off the bench. I think he has the attributes to thrive in a top team. He seems to have the composure to make good quality passes at speed and he has natural finishing ability. Still plenty to learn but big potential.

The result on Sunday is the one that matters. Kane, Dele, Jan and Aurier all fresh for it, Sanchez didn't feature and Son only had a cameo. Win there and I don't think anyone can have complaints about last night.

Yea don’t disagree with that to be fair, some good thoughts. Don’t see why he played erisken he just can’t be arsed anymore

Well that can be argued with, if CE is leaving anyway, who cares if he injures himself in a pointless game, vs an important player we need going forward.

Yea also true and no real other options to play that position unless lo celso plays there sissoko RAM and skipp CM but skipp and dier vs Thiago coutiniho and kimmich isn’t very fair lol!

I think he would have played Eriksen or used him like Eriksen is using us....really just to bring stability to balance the young players ....not for his quality or future. Didnt want to put more reg players or younger players...it was enough for him to see.
And Parrott will get better chances he knows what he can do

If Aurier can maintain his upturn in form, then I’d say only 1 RB required,
You lost me there.

With an 'upturn in form' he's still utter shite. The occasional good cross when he goes forward and always a brain fart away from a catastrophe when he defends. I'd rather have Sissoko as our right back than this clown.

Eriksen - cheese. Cheese - Eriksen. The cheese wins every time.

When Mourinho said it was about us. I think he meant literally. It wasnt about us putting the screws to Bayern although I'm sure he would have enjoyed that.
It was like,I think,Bayern were just the stooges. He didnt need them he just needed to see what our plays can do and put together some coherent pattern (though it probably didnt happen)
Still he said that he had no time to work on things as there were games every day. So I think he saw it like a training day.
That's it

Have you properly watched Aurier much especially recently? He’s got every attribute to be a top top RB, agree he has brain farts but coach that out of him and he has everything, he’s strong, fast, can tackle, can jump and head well, can cross very well and can score some goals, all round modern full back and he’s been one of our best 3 players under Jose along with dele and son.

I have watched him recently, and there is no doubt that he has been better than previously - but that was a very low bar.

To say that he has been one of our best three players is, in my opinion, ridiculous. I've no doubt that he is athletic and is capable of all of the things that you suggest; but while he can do things well doesn't mean that he will. He is far more likely to do a poor cross than a good one, he is far more likely to foul his opponent than to tackle him and - even with his better performances - it would be charitable to say that he has been average defensively.

At his age it isn't enough to say he has all of the attributes to be a 'top top right back'. (Are you Harry Redknapp?). He should be at or nearing his peak and - if he is as good as you seem to think he is - we shouldn't be questioning if he's any good: he would be showing it week in and week out.

I may be wrong. Perhaps Mourinho can coach him into being a world beater - or even a reliable defender. But as things stand, he's a muppet. He's been a terrible signing and we'd be better off without him.
