I would give Jose a B- at this stage. I think you have to consider factors in and out of his control:
You forgot tactics, which are in his control. I think pumping frequent long balls forward with the high risk of losing possession is happening as per his instruction, but I don't understand why.

does anyone else think we are playing worse than in the final stages of the Poch era?
I know Mourinho has a greater point record than Poch's final stretch but I actually think we are playing worse?

No. Loss to Brighton was as bad as I’ve seen any Tottenham side play for many a year

It might be my imagination but I think there was an interview after Soton with Jan(?) stating that they are too quick to resort to long balls due to confidence issues and that it goes against Mourinhos instructions

Mourhino imo seems to be the kind of man who will do everything in his power to prove his detractors wrong .
Far from being past it he is in all probability coming to his peak years as a manager if history of football management is anything to go by.
So for me we must suffer this season to reap the rewards of his ability next season .At least I hope so .

Be very interesting to see how he sets the team up without Harry.
If he is such a tactical wizard we shall see.....

Say it quietly but Arsenal signing Arteta could be a master stroke.

I’m not fooled by Mourinho his already starting with Ndombele (these players are like egg shells - management need to adjust with the times) we all know the players have the power . Just look at Pochettino

After his start Im thinking the same thing...W1 D1 L1 and some calamitous defensive errors but the intent and the plan in their setup and play is clear...

At the moment even when we win we're still lacking in a performance...

We lost. Win again and it will be back to normal. Until we lose again.
You say this but it goes far deeper than that. We look completely disjointed with no real plan. What we’ve witnessed so far under Mourinho is essentially kick and chase, we aren’t even trying to play football. Even if we’d won every game so far under Mourinho it would still be deeply worrying for our long term prospects.

To be fair though, we are playing the worst football since the 90's. We are absolutely diabolical on the pitch, I would say it's worse than the 90's. It's hardly suprising the crowd's not electric. I don't think it has anything to do with tourists. There are some, but there's not 10's of thousands. No team on planet earth would have a great atmosphere playing like us. No one. People praise 'Pools atmos, wasn't that long ago it was awful.
You should watch a derby match in South America. It's like witnessing a human earthquake while watching the footballing equivalent of Leyton Orient vs Walsall. Our football may be atrocious but I guarantee there are plenty of places where thousands of people are jumping for the full 90 minutes while watching something significantly worse than our dross.

We don't look much, if any, better under Jose than we did under Poch, but it's far too early to say that he's failing. He's not had enough time yet to implement any real tactical changes, and he's barely had enough time for a training session between fixtures lately. He's also been hit by injuries and suspensions that undoubtedly had an impact on his plans. Personally I'm not expecting to see any real improvement until he gets a decent amount of time to train the squad. Does anyone know how the mini winter break that we've got coming up next month works? I know we have a week without a match, but do the players actually get the time off, or do they continue to train during this time?

If he has surrounded himself with a backroom staff full of yes men, then we are stuffed.

I'd keep him though because if Ndombele is injured I think he'd be ok in that role alongside a destroyer/DM.

He's struggled this last year because he's been put in the most vulnerable midfield position.

I know some people don't rate Winks, but I don't think there's any way we'd sell him as he's one of our Club Trained players.

I don't why people are so sure that Jose is going to bring in the right players. He spent over £60m on Baily and Lindelof and then moaned he didn't have a quality centre half. He bought Fred who although is improving is not what they thought they were getting. He also brought in Matic who was decent for a season and now a has been. Not to forget Lukaku, Sanchez, Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan and Diego Dalot.

So what gives everyone the confidence his signings are going to be a long term success?

Some of those signings were flops, but there are some odd names in there as well.

Bailly was a good signing until his injury. It's not fair to blame Mourinhofor that. He was also left playing Smalling and Jones for a lot of the time he was there which is why he needed another centre half.
Ibra was a hit there.
Lukaku did well under Jose.
Diego Dalot is only 20 now.
Mkhitaryan was meh, but helped them win the Europa League.
Fred was a flop, as was Sanchez, but he was probably a club buy rather than a Jose buy. And Jose's moaning about transfer at United needs to be taken in context. His job there was to catch City and win the Premier League, but United didn't deliver the players he wanted, while City were strengthening all the time.

I get your point though, there's no guarantee that a new player will be a success, but he's had a decent record with purchases at most of the other clubs that he's been at.

yep, i'd be far more confident in Arsenals mid-long-term future than ours and i'd argue we have a better squad than them but Arteta is going to set a blueprint of playing that could be successful, Jose's anti-possession long ball shit won't work these days. I hope he proves me wrong as i was very optimistic when we appointed him but seeing the style of performances i can't see how playing this way we can win anything or progress.

I know it's too early to judge, but we are paying him huge wages.
I can cope with some bad performances and losses, but I expect at least a game plan from a manager we are paying 15m a year. And so far we look clueless in the pitch.
The only constant is the hoofing, but that's a consequence of the lack of confidence imo. Other than that we have no idea what to do as a team
