The lack of physicality just undermines any technical ability he may have. Yes he isn't the biggest lad around but it's more the lack of any kind of strength/power to hold his own. Don't know what he has been doing strength and conditioning wise, but not been many signs he has improved in that area. For that reason, as already mentioned, he will get overlooked by Mourinho.

I hoped he would use the last few preseasons to really work on his core strength and come back much more stronger but he still looks a boy playing a man's game at times. A move to Brighton would be good for him and a fresh start but really has to address the issue with his strength/physicality otherwise I can see him following the same path as Phil Ifil and dropping down the leagues fast.

Good for him. I would imagine we're not letting him go, if we don't have a replacement lined up. But you know it's Spurs sooo...

Could hope we could get some off the Zaha deal then.

Palace a good move on loan. Must not sell this kid. Let him have a good loan with Roy and perhaps even a full year next year. Then bring him back to the club. Could see us moving to a system with 2 CB's + a DM who could drop between the two + two attacking FB's, which would make KWP and Max Aarons a perfect combo on the right and Ryan Sessegnon + Denis Cirkin on the left 18 months from now.

Three years later and he is available for loan to another prem. team at 22 - should have been on loan years ago. What a waste.

I’d be surprised if the deal doesn’t have an option to buy at the end of the season

Onomah had the same problem.

Both lovely footballers but still no bite in the men's game yet.

They seem almost a bit bubble wrapped without that essential edge that could have made them top pros.

You look at the kids coming through elsewhere in the PL and they just seem instantly tougher and more confident in the men's game, whether they've got any experience at that level or not.

Poch failed both of their development, badly.

Tbf he'll probably just end up warming their bench as well. Think he would have been better off joining a team lower down the table so he could see more gametime.

Poch truly stalled KWP's development.

Never had a decent shot with us or learning his craft elsewhere. There was no reason not to send him out on loan last season when we had Trippier and Aurier on our books.

Excellent, let's see how he does with a run of games in the Prem and if he kicks on like we all hope.

They've taken on Cenk Tosun on loan, so any transfer this window would have to be permanent, no?

Which would be fine. This guy needs to be let out of his misery.
