Sounds like his people are at the game today. He may well prefer us (Mourinho, currently in CL) but you'd imagine Utd can offer better financials to both the player and Sporting. I guess that is what TottenhamBoys means by 'in the balance'.

It always seemed like we'd move for him in the summer if Eriksen left, but that of course was when Pochettino was coach. Maybe the Inter deal is close to completion.
Now I guess the question is if we're looking at him to complement or replace Lo Celso. My guess would be the latter considering that Jose wants to strengthen other positions.

This was a good option for Eriksen leaving which wasn’t achieved in summer. He is a numbers player. Lots of assists and goals.
he is not Gazza or David Silva but effective. If Eriksen is to be sold this makes sense but this does not cover or fill the gaps and imbalances in the squad.

We can pay it, but very few clubs go straight in at the asking price.
I actually think that performance could help. The last 25 minutes when we got players on the pitch who actually want to be here on the pitch was pretty good.
He seems a bit duplicative positionally, but we just need quality players who care and can actually pass the ball to their team.

Issue with this one is that I feel like he's about 3 or 4 places down on the needs list. DM, Defenders of any position, Striker and Goal Keeper appear to be more needed than an 8.

I mean who knows what Hugo is going to be like, especially given his somewhat bizarre form over the past year or so, and Gazza is absolutely not a first choice keeper. Compare that to at 8 where we have Ndombele, lo Celso, winks and sissoko; the GK situation looks more desperate
