I don't have to see anything. Lo Celso has just joined, I've barely seen him play. Lamela has been injured all the time, I've never seen him have a run at the 10 slot. I've never seen Eze play either.
can`t trust Lamela and I watched Lo Celso in la liga last season and while I see him as a valuable squad member I don`t see him as a classic no. 10 to provide the assist we need.. I am actually not sure Bruno is the answer either I think someone in the mould of Ziyech would help our forwards a lot.

What were we crying out for all these years? A backup #10 to push Eriksen who has always been incredibly inconsistent.

Players fighting for places is not a bad thing, contrary to beliefs of many Spurs fans.
At no point did my post disagree with that.

Though this Eriksen revisionism is a joke. Eriksen until last season was putting performances every season. Ok not every game, but thats just the nature of the role, the nature of attacking positions as a whole. On the other hand we don't necessarily need a N.10 and a lot of the top clubs don't play with one anymore. It's all about options and where we want to go.

A new attacking mid player would be great, but it's not a priority.

I’m at a big Football convention in America and there were some Sporting Lisbon coaches who presented, they said it’s a done deal. 65 mill plus 5 mill to Manchester Units that will be announced after his final
Game this weekend, take with a pinch and I didn’t catch the currency either

His final game this weekend was yesterday....

Alli is our number 10 and Lo Celso is back up

I'm off for some pre-match beers at Mega Bar, but I'll let you all know how he plays and more importantly, whether he applauds the fans after the game
I felt he had an unusually quiet game. The quality all round wasn’t great, but it was very entertaining and really could have gone either way. Camacho, this was the first time I’ve seen him start although he’s come on a few times, is a real raw talent. A couple of mistakes, but he’s so speedy and active. We should keep an eye on him. Came back from Liverpool in the summer.

There was a lot of hugging of Bruno at the final whistle, from both sets of players. And he led a team wide thanks to the crowd. But it didn’t look anything other than usual post-derby waves if you as me. If we’re going by that, it looks like he wasn’t assuming it would be his last game.

I don’t know if others watched, but the troubles I mentioned before were very evident. The ultras were silent throughout the first half, and then at the start off the second set flares off all over the place. Game was halted for 10 minutes. They really hate the president, who is only there are the previous one had to resign after ultras attacked the players a couple of seasons ago.

Wish the papers would stop calling them Sporting Lisbon too. Sporting Clube de Portugal, or just Sporting please.

The latest suggestion is that Sporting were asking for the £39m that we offered (and they rejected) in the summer, and that as soon as Man Utd agreed to pay it, they decided they wanted double.

Not really a surprise that we're not involved in this if they're messing everyone about.

Said it before but he’s not going to be the answer for us, or United in fact. If we spent £60-80m on him we’d regret it, he’s really not that good. He has done well the past few seasons in Portugal (goals/assists wise) but there are question marks surrounding him in the big games (this comes from 2-3 friends who watch him regularly).

Also a friend pointed out that his pass success rate is below 80%, in what is quite a crap league (normally he comes in around 75%). The best midfielders punch at least 80% in the Prem. Someone like Dembele was circa 90%, and boy don’t we seriously need a player who can keep us the ball at the moment.

I think the clamour for this guy is symptomatic of the combined bad run of form and the January transfer market thing of a player being available and therefore people just wanting a shiny new signing who costs money. As it would feel like the club is doing something about the situation.

I would rather we splash out on a DM and a decent loan fee for a striker like Cavani to keep us competitive until the end of the season.

If we need a player like this guy we could probably spend the same money in the summer on a player with 2X the quality.

I read an article last summer which said this is just because he often tries very ambitious passes (potentially because the league is too easy for him).

Yep can also be part of it, for sure. He gets a lot of assists, which is a positive and a reflection of those ambitious passes but, as you say, the league is so weak and these opinions would be given based on combination of what they see with their eyes, plus the numbers.

My personal view is the MF money would be much better spent over the next two windows on a DM and someone who doesn’t constantly turn over the ball. We may find that we can find a combination of the two, like City have found in Rodri. Or Ndombele becomes Dembele MK II. I just don’t think this guy is the answer to any of our problems based on what I understand.
