Son`s turn to be the target of toxicity then.
Well, I haven't been reading the thread, I've been watching the match, but his form has gone off a cliff. He can't make good decisions, can't hit the target, dawdles on the ball instead of passing and gives away unnecessary fouls. If Kane wasn't injured, Son would be on the bench by now.

It's a good game. They have had more of the ball and we have had more of the chances, indeed we should be a goal or two up.

Our midfield is doing stylish stuff with the ball, but (unsurprisingly) lacks power and authority. As the half progressed, Lo Celso started to assert some himself with some tackling, but otherwise, we're getting bullied a bit in the middle and losing the ball too much.

Tanganga has burnished his reputation and our defence has handled Southampton's attack with confidence. Our three attackers are interplaying well and Alderweireld is delivering good long passes. But Son has totally lost his confidence and seems to have developed tunnel vision as well.

Anybody's game, really. Good football.

Oh, there are some grown ups on here. Thanks for the analysis ??

Gedson hasn’t been mentioned much so presume his ticking along without setting the world on fire?

Some impressive counter attacks
but we should be at least
a goal up-
Son and Moura clear chances.
both set up by Dele.

only 21% possession.
It's a new day
in a new way.

Criticism based on several extremely poor performances, including this first half, is not toxicity. He would look instantly better if he actually started passing the ball though.

You can see that we’re slowly putting things together as a team. We won’t be were we need to be until at least next season but we seem more cohesive than previous.

GLC could absolutely be the glue for this new era

Its not 21% possession. Most places have it at around 39%

We're missing a striker badly. If we genuinely can't get a decent backup - which I find hard to believe - then we surely need to give Parrott minutes in an FA Cup tie. It's ridiculous that we're doing neither.
Think we have to stop this obsession about parrot he is not yet up to the mark so we need to recruit urgently.

Gedson has been a bit un-involved. He's running about a lot and I'd speculate that his main thought is "fuck, they don't play this fast in Portugal!"

Alli needs to be dropped. I’ve watched nearly every game since Mourinho took over and his final ball is awful as well as the silly flicks and tricks to no one! Put GLC through the middle and get Lamela on.
You do realise if not for poor finishing and son being offside he could have had 3 assists in the first half. Hes been poor in our half but good offensively imo

Hope Levy can see additions are needed. Bruno and Piatek would really change the look of this side.

Add Ndombele and Kane and we will look even better. Definitely taking shape.
