Is he stronger on the right or the left ? Seems strange if mainly from the left. Sorry if its already been asked keep worrying hes in same room they held GKN, I'm almost certain its haunted, that look in his eyes, when he was finally released ?!?. Poor lad was never the same. Something happened in there.

I mean that's great and all but let's keep in mind the league he is playing in.

It is also worth noting that assists and key passes are just as good an indicator of creativity as just someone who spams in crosses all game. Just means a pass where a shot was taken at the end of it.

Again I hate to be a bit negative but I've seen this pattern happen time and time again. Player comes in people are hyped. Player plays not as well as some people unrealistically expected. People turn against him. Player then eventually gets appreciated for what they although rarely unanimously. Then people begin over hyping some new player believing him to be what the previous player was not.

Well he only averages 0.3 crosses a game, so I think we’re in the clear.

We were so impressed with Traore after the Wolves game that we scanned the earth to find someone like him.
Seems a mix of traore size and bulk with mane quick feet and vision. Could become top top level. Glad we seem to be going back to playing wide players. Will free kane in the middle to work when he comes back as not so congested

Yes but Janseen had one good season and you or I could see it was unlikely he'd have what it takes so succeed as a top level striker in the prem just from a few youtube highlights, but more than that Janssen didn't have the physical speed and sharpness or the mental strength to succeed for us, Bergywin is a confident player who's been performing for the best team in Holland for a number of years and the same at international level, much much higher chance of him succeeding with us and he's just the type of player we need.

Janssen didn't look like van basten from youtube at all, he looked like he was slow and ponderous and not brilliant technically and was scoring goals against sunday league defences.

I really want this one to happen as this kid has serious potential, would be an extremely astute signing.
I think Bergwijn would be a much better signing than Janssen, but this is a stretch. He has played 9 games at international level in 1 and a half years. He has one assist to his name in those games. He might have played well, I dunno. But far from internationally proven, and frankly less impressive than Janssens international record when we signed him (3 goals in 5, he looked a real talent).

Again potential is the key. Cos this is what Bergwijn is. A player with a lot of potential. He is young and has the raw attributes.

Again I remind people that the dutch league is not a very good league in which to judge player ability. A lot, and I mean a lot, of hot talents from the Netherlands have failed to live up to hype or get remotely close to matching their stats there. Performance and attributes matters way more than what stats would suggest.

Goals are particularly easy to come there. Based on how the league there works I would be amazed if he were to get 10 goals and 10 assists next season and this would be an ambitious target for him to aim for. Having said that, you always get the Suarez' as well. Players who actually seem to get better and produce more once they leave!

I think this is the best video I’ve seen in terms of his all-round contribution and not just goals and assists. Showcases his unselfishness and ability to beat a man.

I'm just saying that it is not a particular indicator of creativity. Could run on and just lay the ball off as well. If you have watched a lot of him and seen that then fine.

Again, last time I add a repetitive negative comment on this thread, I really want to emphasis how bad the Eredivisie is. When players like Dalmau, a 25 year old who couldn't hack the second division in Spain and Khayati, a player who played for QPR for two seasons making around 20 appearances scoring one goal, both being among the top scorers last season you know your in a poor league.

Even De Jong, the top scorer that season, who had a goalless season with Newcastle in the past, looked to have developed and be worth something, moved to Sevilla. Where he has done actually pretty ok, has only scored 4 in 18. Other players like Huntelaar and Tadic were decent to good in other leagues. But Huntelaar is a player who was past it in Germany but still deadly in Holland, and while Tadic has been completely revitalised I doubt we would be seeing half of the stats he is doing now in the PL.

Another last point. Ajax youth team is currently top of the Championship. Compare that how big PL squads do in the EFL trophy and you will get a good understanding of just how poor the league can be

It's a bit of a punt based on potential, we've clearly done our scouting as been on the radar a while. Unfortunately, players with great stats in competitive leagues cost an absolute bomb. I personally would file this one alongside Sessegnon.

Mate I understand not wanting to overhype potential signings and how it can be disappointing in retrospect. I get it.

But the argument isn't really based on much besides pointing out other signings from the Eredivisie that didn’t work out. I can just as easily point out the opposite by noting Suarez, Eriksen, RVP, Van Nistelrooy, VDV, Bergkamp, and Robben all were Eredivisie players who made it in the Prem.

Some signings work out, some don‘t. But very rarely is because there’s some kind of precedent that pointed to their failure in advance. Torres was the best striker in the league at Liverpool and flopped at Chelsea, so should we turn down Mane, Firmino, or Saleh?

Apparently to some, this transfer doesn't make sense. We only had Lamela and sess as attacking options off the bench on Saturday. This fella can play across the front and can cover son or moura.

€ 30 to € 33 million, that is what PSV wants to get out of Bergwijn this week. As a youth player he is on the balance for 0 euros, so that means a considerable financial boost. Tottenham Hotspur can easily pay the amount.

Yeah we could pay 30m over 15 years with 0% interest and a 10m discount if paid in 10 years
