If this is indeed the case then it shows how fucking diabolical the current crop of English players are. I grew up watching and idolising gazza...... Grealish, whilst a promising player is not on the same planet in terms of style, ability, intelligence or any number of other things.

This is the best crop of players England have probably ever had.

I think you probably had time to witness the rise and fall of the misused "Golden Generation".

I do see where you are coming from though as we have had a good amount of time with players like Rooney and Gerrard playing despite no longer being at the desired level coupled with players like Sturridge and Walcott never making the step up.

Now we have some exciting young talents coming through coupled with experienced quality like Kane. However we still don't have a strong spine, with only one decent CB and no true DM.

It actually is. We've had good teams in the past but now there is genuine competition for evey positions on the pitch and overall techinical level of the players is far higher than it ever has been.

But this team has multiple players who have won things at both domestic and European level. People talk about the golden generation but Sterling, Kane, Sancho, TAA are all world class. Anyway I dont support England, got enough heartbreak with Spurs.

Officially gone to United. That solves their biggest problem IMO, a total lack of creativity in attacking midfield. The battle for fourth is going to be tight.

Doubt it will make any difference but hopefully this provides just that bit of extra motivation for Levy to get the business we're still working on done as we've yet to address the two biggest problems in the squad (striker and DM) despite the good business we've done so far.
