Much prefer Giroud to the frightening prospect of Benteke but I imagine we'll get truly shafted by Chelsea on that one.

It's the bald one they'd have to deal with. They stand no chance in hell.

Please talk me through your reasoning of how having Giroud would make us weaker than having no striker.

I’m fascinated.

Blocks path for Parrott, not better up front than Son, would want a good £200k a week, difficult to sell once we realise he’s still shit, would have an absolute **** up front that the fans don’t like and would turn on in weeks - leading to an even more toxic atmosphere at the ground. Shit personality and attitude that can rob off. Just imo innit, but then I’m not so desperate for signings I’ll salivate at any washed-up old shite.

The eventual Scandinavian link to the cryptic and Hercules sensitivity makes me think of Joshua King of Bournemouth. Man United have been linked with him as well, hence the sensitivity at this stage. I think he’d be a far better complement to Kane than for example Piatek.

Kane’s been out for weeks and Parrott hasn’t played. I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes out on loan.

OG would be a short term fix, 18 months max - cover for Kane while he’s out, relieve some pressure when he’s back, and be out of the way when Parrott is more ready to deputise.

Makes perfect sense to me.

I’m starting to think @Stoof wasn’t just aimlessly guessing, and he actually knows something the rest of us don’t....

When Herc says the player we're after is too sensitive to mention I wonder if it's too sensitive because the player himself doesn't even know he's joining us

Somewhere, sat in a darkened room waiting for representatives of another club to come and see him is a football player, blissfully unaware he’s actually at Hotspur Way, and not at Barca/Juve/Real etc.

Ahh he'd be fantastic, I wish you hadn't suggested it quite frankly as now I'll be mad when this link with no basis doesn't happen.

Yeah but he is devilishly handsome.

It's only ever been the kit that's stopped him from being do-able, imagine him in lily-white...

As I said in the Giroud thread, even when at Arsenal I quite liked him, along with Ramsey. Thought he was massively underrated at Arsenal, hes never been a prolific goalscorer but his link up play and assists went massively under the radar by alot of people.

If we have other options I'd go for them, but if its Giroud or no one then it just has to be Giroud.

Mentioning how slow he is if rather pointless aswell, hes never been quick and if we do sign him and he plays hes hardly doing to be instructed to run in behind defenses ffs.. Get the ball to his feet or chest and let the pacey players like son, moura and steve run off him. Hes also brilliant in the air so will be very effective for when when we cross the ball into the box.
