Yeah stop posting fucking betting here, you will get banned, and the thread will get locked. How clear does A&C have to be?

loads still taking bets! unibet offering 9-1

Personally think betting on someone like Zlatan (or another MLS player as their season is over, or from a country where their window is still open) on loan for 6 months, is better value than Bale whose agent has already ruled that out.
Do bookies pay out on loans anyway, or is it just permanents ?

Seeing that Frank has gone public that he is staying. We were very confident we could conclude a deal for Giroud, up until last night. We spent 3 days talking and agreed all. This morning Frank himself decided he wanted him to stay, due to their failure to bring in another striker. That was not the understanding we had. Chavs were willing. Frank this morning vetoed that happening.

club would of backed JM with obligation on Willian Josè, but he was not confident to do so. Would of stretched us (obligation) but DL would of done it. So with all this in mind, I call it the way I see it. I was pissed off like any supporter would be with out failure striker front. But after getting clear understanding, from my disclosure in past hour, how could I honestly start bashing our club on this? When the club/DL is at fault, I will call it. If I do, BsodL don’t get on my case that I have an agenda.Eze, verbally agreed for summer. We have first option!

Appreciate the info but if the club did not see that coming they are morons. Anyway we should not be in the position of scraping around for average players in the first place, our recruitment has been shocking over past couple of years and has come home to roost by losing poch and now yet again not being able to address obvious holes in the squad.

I don't know but I'd probably start with the club thinking that our fierce rivals and main top 4 competitors would do anything other than fuck us over last knocking leaving us with nothing and then wasting time going down the Bale rabbit hole .

Annoying that we were able to spend 150m without sales just 18 months ago, spent nothing with the stadium almost done. Now we're being held to ransom
So Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Sessegnon, Fernandes etc. were all free were they? It seems people don't realise we've already spent c. £160m this year

The fact that some of you are surprised is incredible. Its the same situations, same let downs and same excuses over and over.

Just accept it or you will be in the same spot in the summer feeling shitty and disappointed.

The points Herc is making re: option to buy instead of obligations makes sense from a finance perspective. Often in project finance deals, companies are required to maintain financial covenants throughout the term of a loan, including maintaining minimum debt service coverage ratios, debt to equity ratios, liquidity ratios etc.

From how Herc has described, it sounds like loaning a player with an obligation to buy (and thus adding the debt to the balance sheet) would breach these financial covenants (and thus be an event of default under the loan agreement) hence why it is nearly impossible to do, whereas an option to buy would not need to be recorded as a debt - i.e. no breach of covenant.

To have covenants related to not loaning players with obligation to buy would be very surprising. To have covenants related to minimum available cash, minimum equity ratio etc, is common. As you say it is very likely that an obligation to buy would need to be recorded as debt in the balance sheet, and thus would have an effect on equity ratio.

That said, if we are so close to breach our financial covenant when it comes to equity ratio, that we cannot loan a Willian Jose with an obligation to buy at lets say 25 mill, then our financial position is really weak...

I really don't feel disappointed about not singing a really shitty striker. We literally cannot buy strikers for love nor money the only one we have ever signed in all the years I been watching Spurs was Berba and we literally lucked right out in Kane coming through the academy

We’ve needed a back up striker ever since Harry Kane broke through. We’ve more than got by when he is injured with Son, Dele and Moura. It was Pochettino that was in charge and happy with the situation. How does he get away without criticism? He’s a football manager not a blameless saint. We could get a bang average striker in now and so many would be satisfied with it. Or we could have found someone in the last four years of Pochettinos tenure.

Football at Tottenham is far more sophisticated than training, tactics, philosophy, pressing, attack, defense, goals, set pieces, skills, etc.
Here we talk balance sheets, financial covenants, debt service coverage ratios, debt to equity ratios, liquidity ratios., etc.
The fans are holding the club back. We need to get to the stage where match day programs are replaced with calculators, the big screens show financial market indicators, stewards are replaced by brokers, etc.
