If we somehow managed to sign Aarons, Dias, Eze, and Soumare it would be an outrageously good summer.

If I was a betting man I'd say Eze and Soumare I'd back us to do, Aarons depending on if Cheslea decide they want him or not and then Dias will probably stretch the budget too much.

I think Davies will do well in the new left back role Mourinho has been playing
Agree, I think hes perfectly suited to the position that Jose has created.
Davies seems to get stick because hes a quiet, unassuming pro. Every team needs dependable players and he's just that, he's a very good defensive full back but he's also capable of good passing and the odd assist.

He was fantastic for Wales in the euros as the LCB in a 3, I think he even started as a CB, suffice to say I think this role will really make him appreciated.

Yep Davies is a very good LCB, the criticism of Davies always came because if his lack of pace and failure to attack the space but playing that LCB role he wouldn't have to worry about that.

I think Chelsea will prioritize several positions before thinking about RB. With Azpilicueta and James why do they need a RB?

Agreed, I just heard I think from Breezer that he has his heart set on Chelsea but as you say James has stepped up for them.

Quite like the look of their RB James.

Pretty strong, gets up and down and pretty decent delivery.

Reckon he'll turn into a pretty tidy RB for them.

Hope we use the rest of the season to prepare Parrott for the future.
Striker aside, it's fairly clear for us what we need, hopefully Mourinho & co are aware as well.
Wouldn't surprise me if Jorge Mendes send Ruben Dias and Ruben Neves in Mourinho's direction.
Them and Max Aarons would be an insane window.

I think it’s a sign of a good defender when they seem quiet or don’t stand out

Davies is bang average and not a player that should be starting for us if we have any ambition.

Davies is not bang average at all. Every side needs a solid reliable player like him. He reminds me of azpilcueta who has won titles with Chelsea and plays in a similar position and style

Azpilicueta is a much better player than Davies. Its the exact same thing people were saying about Winks going into the season. Davies came back healthy this season and was really bad. He's a good backup and an average to below average starter. He wouldn't start at any of our other top 6 rivals and you could add on Wolves, Leicester, & Everton to that as well. So he's a mid table starter.

Azpillcueta may be better but I would say “much better”. Anyway I was merely saying they had a similar style and are underrated because of their style, not comparing quality.
I would argue Davies would play plenty of games if he played for Chelsea or man Utd

Not forgetting we also need a striker.

Personally, if Fulham don’t get promoted I would go for Mitrovic. I actually suggested we should be in for him before Fulham bought him permanently, but that suggestion was laughed at here as most thought he was shit.

Now I can understand why some think he’s found his level in the championship, but although obviously not top class his record isn’t that bad in the PL for a pretty crap Fulham team. Plus he’s a typical physical target man that Jose likes and considering our attempts at actually signing strikers he’s one we may actually be able to get over the line. As I said, as long as Fulham do not get promoted.

Liverpool have a few of them as well - Henderson would be nothing if not in that team. Average players grow when they play in a strong unit.

We had a few of them as well, during our best years in the Poch era. I don't think Rose is much better than what he has shown these last couple of seasons, but when his confidence was soaring, he played above his level. Same with Sissoko, Walker and Trippier.

Rose was one of the best LBs in the world, injuries ruined him. Walker was incredible. Crazy to me you would include him in a list with Sissoko and Trippier.
