He's part of the first team squad. All first team squad players went on a break unless they were coming back from injury and needed to work on fitness levels.

Yet, he constantly finds himself out of first team training squad like today ?

What does it matter what his friends dad does?

I don't give a toss about his personal life, though realistically I don't think it'd be my preference that our 18 year old striker is spending his holiday in Dubai with a drug lord's son.

There's rumors going about Twitter that Mourinho had a chat with Troy about his behavior off the pitch and these stories came out in the last few days. I'm just trying to connect the dots as it doesn't make much sense that Parrott would be getting brushed to the side in this moment where we're desperate for forwards.

When you say rumours, your not referring to that Marc BA Twitter account? The God of transfer tierring? He’s a total chancer.

Disproportionate amount of focus on the lad due to the current situation. Ireland need to slow down a little when it comes to him too.

The manager has said he's not ready to play. He probably would've gone out on loan, but we needed to keep him on the squad to get him good home grown status. The coaches and manager know what they're doing.

Jose said Sessegnon wasn't a left back. About 2 days later he plays him at left back.

We need to judge Jose by his actions not his words. Personally I feel Parrott has to get minutes now, even if it's just to protect other senior attackers from over use.

Dortmund beat PSG tonight with this front three

Haaland 19yo
Reyna 17yo
Sancho 19yo

Mbappe on the other side won the WC when he was 18.

That's not to say Parrott is as good as any of them, or ever will be. But being 18 is no good reason not to play him on its own.

I can only think he’s not showing maturity in training and around the club, because physically he looks more than ready to compete.

Clearly has attitude problems, shouldn’t be out boozing in Dubai when he’s on the cusp of a break through and hanging out with associates of gangsters. Hopefully José will iron that out of him

Our 2 main strikers are out. He’s now 18 and a full international and been training with the squad daily apart from sporadic moments where he seems to disappear from no obvious reason like yesterday. Don’t care what anyone says if he’s not on the bench tonight it’s bloody weird and there’s definitely more to it than football reasons. We had it with Edwards and people denied it and denied it. But there’s rarely an odd pattern without some explanation. 2 months ago he was the golden boy Mourinho was giving him the match ball and now he’s not even training when we are desperate but Malachi Walcott is. If you don’t think that’s odd then you’re a bit naive.

Exactly this!

JM says he’s “not ready” not that he’s too young!

Obviously as fans we don't know what the story is behind the scenes/in training but given our complete inability to hold the ball up and now lack of bodies, surely it makes sense to give Parrott some game time, even if it's just from the bench.

I was only half watching the Utd/Chelsea game but Ighalo, who is widely deemed a past-it desperation signing, actually made a big difference to Utd's forward play when he came on and could've easily scored. Just by having a large bloke as a focal point up top rather than Lucas/Steve would provide presence and make our hoof-ball more effective. Even if he does prove to be out of his depth, do we really have anything to lose at this point?

You just know Jose won't give him a minute this season though. I think his mind is made up.

Even if we were to get another injury upfront i still think he wouldn't be involved in the matchday squad, seems like he's making a point

I just think that Parrott isn't ready. Poch said so, Mourinho says so. Again and again.

You can't compare him to Haaland, Sancho or Mbappe who are simply world class talents playing well ahead of their years.

Parrott has only featured in the weeks prior to his signing the new contract and that is no coincidence. He was being wooed.

He may be an international player now, but he wouldn't be if he were English, so let's keep that in perspective.

He is clearly valued, the club definitely didn't want to lose him, but he just isn't ready to step up and contribute more than the likes of Dele, Moura, Lamela or Bergwijn are capable of right now, even out of position. Hopefully we see him on the bench, or the odd cameo appearance, but more because it would be good for his development, than because he could be the saviour of this situation.

The main problem isn’t whether he’s ready or not. It’s that the club weren’t ready to suffer the injury crisis that has thrust him forward. Under normal circumstances it is unlikely that he would be featuring and any appearance now has an element of extra pressure due to our failings in having more senior backup. It would be a risk to bring him in. Sometimes it pays off, other times, not so much. Playing him guarantees nothing. There’s no right or wrong solution other than making a decision and seeing how it goes. Sink or swim. That’s no way to manage a young unproven player at this level but it’s where we stand due to failings further up at the club.

Experts on here know more than mourinho who's with him every day and it's over of the greatest managers ever. All because he played for a poor international side

Oi. Whether he played in a friendly for Ireland or not Spurs would still be in the same position today and he’d still be the most senior fit striker at the club.
