Good evening everyone

I hope everyone has had a pleasant weekend.

We all know at some point the current manager will leave and its important we start scouting the next manager now. Please dont use this thread to bash Jose as there is another thread dedicated to him for that.

Anyway, who should be next?

Their appears to be a pattern in world football at the moment where teams that play well are the ones that that play brave, offensive, on the front foot and press high football. I have enjoyed watching Peps teams play over the years but recently we have seen teams with far smaller budget than us play some delightful stuff.

Ajax were fantastic to watch last season, they really should have killed the game off in the first leg. Very similar to Leipzig the other night. This year i had the misfortune of watching us play sheff united, norwich, southampton and wolves who also played some really nice stuff. Makes you wonder how those managers would do with the players we have at our disposal. Below i have compiled a list of managers that we should consider next. I dont want Spurs to go for a big name. The best managers for us since we won the FA Cup in 1991 are the ones we obtained from mid table type sides. So i feel we should consider the following and in no particular order:

A) Nuno Espirito Santo - He has done a triffic job at Wolves, they have improved significantly under him and play a brand of football which is good to watch.

B) Ralph Husenhuttl - This guy has a lot of charisma, i really like his personality and i think he is doing a fantastic job at Southampton. The football they play is also a modern style which is really good to watch. I think he will do really well at a club with a massive budget compared to his current club.

c) Erik Ten Hag - I know this season they havent been great but he has had his team ripped apart. The football they played last season was sensational especially against Madrid and Juve. Lets be honest, they should have beaten us in the semi final too. The football they played especially in the first leg was box office.

d) Julian Nagelsmann - The football they played at the lane in the 1st leg was breathtaking. They really should have have buried the tie in the first half. They are doing really well in the German league and i can see them reaching the semis of the champions league too.

e) Chris Wilder - Doing a fantastic job at a newly promoted club. Its not the results thats impressive, its the style of play which is so great to watch and dangerous.

d) Graham Potter - This guy has had a fascinating career, he has improved every team he has gone to despite Brightons recent run which is worrying. I think this guy is worth keeping an eye on.

e) Marcelo Bielsa - He is regarded as a managerial guru in the latin world, so highly respected and his teams play a great brand of football. His lack of English is a big concern but it wouldn’t stop me from trying.

f) pep guardiola - He will leave city soon, will he want a different type of challenge? Jose did, why not pep? The football will be a joy to watch thats for sure. I am not too keen on big name managers for us but he would be the exception because of the style of play.

No doubt their are many other managers out, please make your suggestions. I have created a poll which you can change and i am keeping the poll open for 16 months which takes us to the end of next season for no obvious reason.

Also i think its important we stay away from managers like simeone who play a defensive style. Spurs fans pay premium prices, the least we deserve is good football as trophies are hard to come by in England due to the stiff competition.

Nagelsman, Wilder. Maybe someone with a club connection like Hughton. Or even Vertonghen. Today I'm past caring.

Far too soon to be thinking about this. I'm sorry, it's a question I find difficult to see any reason to answer.

Our brand of football is being dictated by the players the manager has available. No strikers = no options.

@spursfan1991 sorry fella didn't mean to sound flippant (much). Appreciate the points you're making. But it's absolutely pointless speculating at this stage. Mourinho is here for the foreseeable.

To be fair the OP did say this isn’t Jose bashing etc just that at some point we will replace our manager, I get the negative reactions but he/she are basically just asking who are some good realistic managers out there we might want in the future. Sure it’s not really that time to be thinking about it but right now a few of these names could be good fit for spurs :
nuno - wolves
rogers - leicester
nagglesman - leipzig
wilder - Sheffield utd
ten haag - Ajax
Ralph Husenhuttl - saints

not a fan of potter and no Chance of guadiola but most the names you’ve sad are decent shouts

Not fully convinced the question is that far fetched to be honest. Always felt things will unravel pretty quickly if Mourinho feels he isn't properly backed in the summer and with him that usually involves big expenditure as he is in it to win the big prizes..... something we are not really associated with us unless there is some balancing of the books involved.
