Are we really that far away. I don't think we are even though this season suggests it.

We need some key signings, but with the new stadium being the best in the land by a mile I was hoping Kane would want to stay with the Club he supports and loves.

It's not like Shearer with Newcastle... We've far bigger long-term potential and Kane is super fit and has many years ahead of him.

Disagree. If he knew he wasn't 100% he shouldn't have declared himself fit to play the whole game. Obviously Poch shouldn't have started him either. Team and club before individuals
Potentially his only ever chance to play in a CL final. I don't blame Kane at all. Pochettino was a fucking idiot for starting him.

We got fucked over by Mane and Skomina anyway. It's hard for a striker to play well against a defence like that for 90 minutes.

Unpopular opinion but Kane leaving wouldn't be the end of the world.

He hasn't been his best for a couple of years.

Also pretty disrespectful to talk about leaving to win trophies. He delivered a non-existent display in our club's biggest ever game. Clearly wasn't fit. .

What a total bullshit, he played good match but he couldn't do much better when our attacking midfielders didn't play well , but because this talking how cruel it would be to start our best player over back-up player who scored hattrick one month ago and is very inconsistent now people thinks we lost because he played. In reality, he even wasn't the worst striker on the field. :)

Sergio Aguero has the best strike rate in the Premier League era at 0.69 goals per game. Kane is currently on 0.68. Better than Suarez, Drogba, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney and Shearer. It amazes how under appreciated he is.

If we sell Kane how are we going to improve on him?

Let's just match his ambition, win some silverware and keep him here for the rest of his career.

And if he does decide he wants a new challenge, wish him the best and thank him for being a club legend.

I've said this before and I will say it again..this probably won't go down well with most supporters but it's reality.

Kane, Dele etc, our current crop of key players, will most likely not win PL with us in the next five years. However they are laying the ground work for the next crop to win it with us.

I only have good things to say about Kane. He has been a good role model for everyone at the club; he is not a money-grabbing mercenary. He gives his all on the pitch, and is a leader off it. For this reason if he wants to go elsewhere to win more, and thats understandable given he is entering his prime and probably has 3-4 years of top performance left, I wish him well. He isn't going to part in a way that would hurt our interests anyway.

I really would like to see who, all posters supporting the idea of Kane leaving, believe they could bring in to replace Harry . Must be scores of similar strikers with his goal return per game out there!!
Not anyone who we would be willing to pay for ready made talent

Spend a summer trying to buy Timo Werner, then go balls out for Shane Long on deadline day with £10m plus Skipp on loan

I understand 100% if he wants to go somewhere else to win something, but to bring this all out in public now is just wrong.
The newspapers are talking about it, the pundits are all talking about it.
I am tired of this, if he really wants to go and has told the club, the club should just get the best possible price now, and we will move on as we have always done.

I can't believe 14 people agree with this. Shocked.

Personally I think it is good that there are different opinions on this site. Kind of what keeps the site alive.
Not to mention Kane actually has not been as good (neither have the team tbf) as the last season at the Lane.

Agree I have no issue with Kane if he wanted to leave especially as he is ambitious to win things he requires a club to match those ambitions.
It's difficult because we are a number of clubs who just make up the numbers and the best players want to be at the best clubs.

We couldn't improve on Kane, but if we managed to reinvest the money wisely (unlikely) we could massively improve the entire squad. Also you could argue that given the amount of time Kane has been out injured we'd be better off with someone not quite as good but fitter. Ideal scenario is we keep him and improve the squad around him, but I don't think it would necessarily be a complete disaster in he did leave.

Until this January Kane had been available for 90% of our PL matches since making his debut.

mmm that’s a massively skewed stat. Didn’t he make his debut quite early in the Europa league. I think a more appropriate stat would be how many games he’s been available for in the last 3 seasons.

This is the point though. Fans call for loyalty at all costs but as soon as someone loses form they ditch them and start calling them out. It was the same with Eriksen.

Kane has done more for the club they anyone in recent years and is easily our best player along with being England captain and an academy player. We should be putting a statue up not thinking of selling because he hasn't replicated 2017, a year in which he outscored everyone in Europe

Shearer had already won the league with Blackburn by the time he went to Newcastle, so probably not a great comparison. We have to provide the confidence and evidence to Kane that we share the same level of ambition.. If we don't then I doubt he'll want to be part of another 5 year project that leads to nothing. Difficult position for club and player coming over the next few months I suggest.

For those aghast and retching a little at how some fans are 'advocating' we dump Kane for some sweet sweet dollar. I don't think many here are saying that, in fact, I think most spell out how they aren't advocating it, rather they are expressing how it might not be as devasting to us as it was a few seasons ago, and if Kane was insisting on it behind closed doors we might not have much choice. Just some encouragement that if worst came to worst, there is still a future beyond it that might not be entirely grim.

Potentially not, but I really don't trust us to make the necessary signings to complete the puzzle at all. We always leave ourselves short somewhere and it comes to bite us in the back. Plus it's hard to know just how much this team needs, we really missed the chances before where we knew for a fact we only needed 1 or 2 more quality players. Now I'm not sure if we need a new CB, two new fullbacks, a DM, a backup striker, an upgrade on Lucas/Dele/Lamela etc. It feels like we need all of those but we don't know if just a selection of those will impact the team enough as a whole.

We're in a state of transition right now and have been hampered by a lot of injuries so it's hard to gauge just exactly where we are as a team currently.

Definitely washed up, we'd be lucky if someone made an offer for him, especially as he has scored only 17 goals in 25 games this season and is Spurs' top scorer this season.

GET RID!!

Sooner people accept Kane is no longer the same player from 2-3 years ago the better, cannot believe Levy let him actually pressure him into sacking Poch
Get rid and replace him with who ? Even if we accept your assertion that he isn't the same player as two or three years ago who could we get who is as good or better than he is now ?
