I think I might have just hit dead on considering you've resorted to taunts and not debating.

If you took exception to my post and label them taunts then that says more about your sensitivity issues mate.

You also already replied to my post explaining that it didn't bother so why follow up again - that's not debating, that's you trying to get at me - you're looking like a bit of a hypocrite now. :D

Ok - we're clearly not going to agree. I think you're crazy to think £1M a month will put the business at risk. You're right about everything if the money right now is a matter of life or death for the club. If you believe that then I cannot make an argument against it.

In my opinion we have player assets we should sell before getting to the point of government help
.

To directly answer your question - no I would not be happy to not get a refund. But I would rather Levy put up season ticket prices next year to cover it if it comes to that.

To who??? The entire footballing world is suspended with the exception of Belarus. Everyone is in crisis. Nobody is going to be buying right now. And it would only mean, in any case, that the buying club was reliant on the government while spending on players - the net transfer spend globally is by definition always zero.

Haha - I showed that your same post cuts both ways and I'm the hypocrite?

In these times it’s inevitable you will have judgements made when people and the country is suffering. We probably don’t know the full facts yet and the players may take a wage cut along with the rest of the league together but I think Levy needs to set the example and suspend or reduce significantly his wage if he is going down this route.

Its not a good look though and Levy’s reputation will be of a man who sells his granny if he can get a few extra quid.

but Levy is included though his reduction will be through 20% less from the club, if it was paid via the government it would be over 90% cut

This has been a real PR disaster for the club!

Obviously things can change but looking at what the other clubs have been doing so far we seem to be in the minority.

Dare I say and sorry to all the Bsodl I'm about to upset! This is another Daniel Levy mess up to add an ever growing list. I say this as im pretty sure he would have final decision about reducing staff wages and for the statement they put out. The timing really couldn't have been any worse doing it on the same day financial statements were released revealing his bonus and salary etc. Even if his bonus and salary were paid months ago he and the PR department must have known this will have been picked up by the press.

you do realize that Danny boy owns approx 9% of the club which is worth around 2 billion pounds.
And the other owner is a tax haven living billionaire.
But sure let's defend baldy because it is "our" club
there was a football club there once, and it felt, briefly and naively like one was reappearing
but let's face reality - we ain't a dortmund for eg:

Levy said Spurs would "continue to review" their position.

"We hope the current discussions between the Premier League, PFA and LMA will result in players and coaches doing their bit for the football eco system.

I fully expect the players for us to do something, but until it's gone through the process of PL, PFA and LMA we have to wait. If and when that happens we might see Spurs top up the people who have reduced their wages or put them back on full pay, but until then, I still think the 20% cut isn't unexpected.

I don't mind Levy, I think he's done a hell of a lot more good for the club than bad, but this doesn't sit right with me and I think this is yet another blow to our public image over the past year. We're becoming dislikable and while I don't give a shit what other fans or the media think, I'm disliking some of the things we're doing as well.

The accounts are on Companies House website if you want to take a look.

Thank you muchly.

Declaring the figures had to be done by latest, yesterday, which is kinda outlined in the first link.

The second link is tad more in depth, so perhaps I'll find where Levy has paid himself said wedge and not offered to not take full amount.

Really not sure what all the junior accountants in here expected of a man front ENIC (and what they stand for) It's like a whole section of this forum, if they weren't in here fist waving would be outside shout at clouds right now.

Just think if the prospect of actual football was on the horizon ...

Much is made of Joe Lewis the ultimate owner of Spurs being worth £4 billion , what is not mentioned is that Joe Lewis head of Tavistock Group has 200 companies worldwide under it's umbrella no doubt many of the leisure parts of his empire are suffering with workers laid off. Just taking one as an example is Mitchells and Butler a UK pubs and restaurant group , they have 44000 employees according to their latest accounts, who have probably mostly been put on leave does the BBC or any other news outlet actually think that Joe Lewis is going to pay all their wages . Admittedly M & B won't have anyone on Kane's wages so it really is up to the players to show some sort of social conscience , it is pretty obscene that so few of the wealthy players in the UK have not offered publicly to take a pay holiday.

When the BBC did the earlier report on Newcastle laying off staff https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52098392
the fact that Mike Ashley has a personal wealth of about £2 billion was not mentioned so why mention the wealth of Lewis with Spurs.

I wonder how the players feel knowing they're even more under scrutiny thanks to the clubs statement.
