Willian can eat a bag of dicks as far as I am concerned. That probably means he will end up in a Spurs shirt just to annoy as many people as possible.
The only thing that would annoy me is him signing and not performing. Not too bothered about ending that went before. We've had George Graham, we've got Jose - I can stand Willian.

The Fraser reports sound more believable to me. Can't imagine Levy being too keen on the wages Willian would demand, and even Jose must recognise he's at an age where form could fall of a cliff quite suddenly (applies more to Willian than less pacy options like Giroud & Godin).

Fraser seems to make less sense positionally given I'm unsure how good he is off the right, but I could imagine him being an absolute menace off the bench against tiring legs (granted, that's probably not the role he envisions for himself!). Most importantly for our dear chairman of course, he's free with future resale value!

He's predominantly right footed, but good with his left too. Has switched flanks with Forrest on occasion with Scotland, as well as some minutes at RM while Forrest played a RWB role, so it's not totally alien to him.

William is a technically sound player. His pace has not exactly deserted him, but he’s not utterly reliant on it either. He’s skilful, picks passes well, has good delivery both from open play and set pieces and has shown he has a habit of performing particularly well in big games. He’d be a great option to have off the bench or to rotate on either flank or at CAM. On a free [and provided a deal is within current wage structures] that’s really not something I think we should be turning our noses up at. I’d be looking for Son, Lo Celso and Bergwijn to cement their places as the first choice three attacking players behind Kane with Lamela, Moura and Willian offering cover/options. With Sessegnon still being so young I’d not be overly worried at having a number of players ahead of him. He could be given opportunities in the cups and certain league games and appearances off the bench all along the left side (LB, LWB, LM, LW)

Addressed this where I referred to Giroud and Godin. Pace is the key. Willian more reliant on it than Poyet ever was.
Pace is definitely a key, which is obviously why someone like Sheringham lasted into his 40s. Assuming that this is true, possibly Jose has a particular role in mind for him. At the end of the day, Jose has the right to make these decisions even if they turn out to be the wrong ones as ultimately he will pay the price if he doesn't achieve the objectives set by Levy.

He is that player with experience of winning trophies that could be an influence on the younger players.
He doesn’t come across of the sort of guy that’s gonna give a rally cry in a dressing room at half time tbf.
I doubt the guy speaks much English to be an influence on our younger players. Always seems a bit of an Anelka attitude on the pitch when I watch him. Still better than Lucas or dele tho.

I wouldn’t have thought he’d live in London this long and not learn to speak English to a decent level. In post match interviews he speaks pretty fluently and his comprehension seems very sound.

Not necessarily thinking an overt leader type but just someone who has been there, done it who can provide a calming influence if the younger ones are panicking (what is apparently known as losing their bottle to some fans). Got to trust in Jose I guess - I know that some won't admittedly.

With what’s going on in the world right now us and most clubs are probably going to have to be creative in the market so by getting players like willian and meunier for free to replace players like aurier and lamela is a no brainer for me. We would be getting upgrades for free then whatever money we raise by selling them two can go to other areas of the squad.

The Athletic said that Meunier is not coming last week.
