The Transfer Wishlist Thread

If that's true, I'd be shocked.

If we want to get back to challenging, then just based on how people speak about him, then this is the sort of target we should be all hoping for as supporters. If we're still talking Girouds etc, forget it. Pointless.

Not necessarily as we were told he was Mourinho‘s favoured player and was willing to wait until the summer instead of signing a desperately needed striker in Jan. Osimhen is competent as both a wide forward and as a striker.

But we don't have any money?

Says the media... we’ve no idea what the club will do in terms of transfers. I like how they point out the club with the best financials is broke yet they don’t highlight every other club that’s most definitely in the shit.

Anything under 40mil would probably be a pretty good deal. I'd be shocked still if we threw around that much money for a backup forward. I think we'll be back bargain shopping for backup strikers regardless of Corona or not.

He’s not a back up striker... he’s another Son, can play right across the 3 forward positions and both scores and creates goals. I’d expect him to play alongside Kane and Son or as the lone striker with Kane dropping a little deeper and allowing the likes of Bergwijn to get a game.

From what I can gather, it was reported earlier that Chelsea made an offer for Osimhen, but that has since been corrected to it being us who has made an offer for him. ITK has had him as a top target for Jose, so may be some truth.

Worth noting that it says that €85m euros is not the true price and is “largely overestimated”

Not sure I agree, he's a striker through and through if you watch his clips and where transfermarkt says he lines up every game. He may be able to fill in off the wing but thats not where he plays. Basically every goal from open play here he is the highest man up the pitch right in the middle of it.

I do remember what Mourinho did with Eto'o, could see a repeat with Osimhen. Even if he is a bit taller and not quite as quick and agile like Eto'o was.

Milito
Pandev - Sneijder - Eto'o
Cambiasso - Stankovic

Kane
Son - Ndombele - Osimhen

Rice? - Lo Celso

Swap Rice for someone agile like Gerson.

Summer rebuild needed. This summer has to be one of the best free agent markets in years but we'll likely need CL football to be a frontrunner in the battle for the available talent.

We 100% need a new first choice LB and RB. Our fullbacks have been our glaring weakness since 16/17 IMO. I'd also like a more assertive first choice DM than Winks but I think we could still challenge with him in the first XI. If we're crafty, we can use player sales to splash the cash on an RB, LB, and DM and plug up the rest of the squad with free transfers.

I would like to see us sign a RB x2, LB, DM, AM, and a backup ST.

OUT:
Dier
Davies
Aurier
Lamela
Rose
KWP

IN:
RB: Meunier (Free)
RB: Aarons / Dest
LB: Chilwell / Grimaldo / Theo
DM: Zakaria / Roca / Koopmeiners
AM: Fraser / Willian (Free)
ST: Mertens / Dyzuba (Free)

Bergwijn Kane Son
Fraser Mertens Lucas

Ndombele Zakaria Lo Celso
Dele Winks Sissoko
(Skipp / Gedson)

Chilwell Sanchez Toby Aarons
Sessegnon Tanganga Foyth Meunier

Lloris
Gaz / Austin

Would love us to sign Osimhen but I just cannot see it in the current climate. Would be a fantastic addition to provide competition for Kane and also to play alongside him but I cannot see us spending that sort of money (I'm sure it's less than the article states) on a player with all the uncertainty around finances.

We don't even know if there will be a lot of football 20/21 so I am pretty certain we don't go out now and throw the cash around. Especially when there could be soon times where some teams are really desperate for money and are there to be fleezed by Levy.
Would also not go down well with our current staff and players who are asked to get reduced salaries while we splash out millions for a transfer fee that will push out one of the current players.

On a sportive level I would be all over this.

Rumours:

BARCA WANT FOYTH
Yes, that Foyth. Tottenham’s Juan Foyth is not wanted at Tottenham – he has not kicked a ball for the club in 2020 and has not been in a single Premier League or Champions League squad since being hauled off at half-time of the 2-2 draw with Norwich in December – but he might be wanted by Barcelona, according to the Mirror.

Apparently, ‘Barcelona’s interest comes with the Spanish giants ready to offload centre backs Samuel Umtiti or Jean-Clair Todibo. Should they do so Foyth is being seen as a relatively cheap replacement.’

ITALIAN SWAP SHOP FOR SPURS?
Tottenham might have a whole new defence by the end of the summer. Is the summer still a thing? According to Tuttomercato, Jose Mourinho will look to complete a double Serie A deal by signing Alex Sandro and Timothy Castagne from Juventus and Atalanta. Has there ever been a time when Mourinho did not want to sign Alex Sandro?

Apparently Spurs could offer Serge Aurier and a load of cash for Sandro, while there is also a suggestion that Danny Rose could be swapped for Mattia De Sciglio, who can play in either full-back positions. Having spent years trying to move north, we are not sure Rose could be tempted to Italy…

Dembele is the current generations version of Kieron Dyer... fantastic talent but made of papier mache lol
