Yeah I'm just looking at it from Jose perspective that he isn't the player to bring on if Jose wants that defensive discipline but I was in the same mind as you, I don't trust Spurs defenders to hold out for 90 minutes and I think it's only worked for us once since Jose came in (against City). I'd have much preferred bringing Ndombele on to alleviate pressure and keep them honest by being able to play on the counter.

I am also concerned about Ndombele getting in but I'm analysing it and I think we might see Lo Celso in and then I don't see Jose daring to drop anybody else and as you say Dele is a Jose Favourite. If Jose wants to play with the solid midfield then I'd suggest dropping 1 of the front 3 considering we don't attack enough to utilise their skills for Ndombele and Swapping Lamela/Lo Celso. Obviously I'd prefer one of Sissoko/Winks to be dropped and go with a midfield trio of Ndombele/Gio +1 and then the front 3 we had vs United but I just don't see it happening.

It feels like Mourinho sees Alli and Lamela ahead of Ndombele in the advanced role, and then Lo Celso and Winks ahead of him as a deeper lying playmaker.

I'd love to see Ndombele playing in the advanced role with Lo Celso and Sissoko behind him, supported by a fast front line and full-backs that can get up the pitch, but it doesn't seem like that's the way we're going.

For me he should start against West Ham. I kind of get it against United, we needed to keep shape but he is so talented and creative I feel we may need it against West Ham who are going to be compact themselves.

Really want him to play. I know he won't.

i will be gutted not to see him play if im honest. I would pair him with sissoko tomorrow and bring Lo Celso on due to fitness concerns.

I too think he will.
If Ndombele doesn’t get any game time today, after sitting in the bench against United, I think that will be a huge concern. There’s no reported (new) fitness issues, so it would suggest José doesn’t trust him.

If Ndombele is not picked. No big deal. We need midfielders who will track back and do a job for the team. This guy Tanguy is proven to be lazy.
We also need midfielders who can pick a forward pass around the box and create some good chances, and he looks like our most creative player post-Erisken.

He's not proven to be anything, he's hardly played any games. Give him a bit of time to settle before you start spouting rubbish like that.

If he doesn’t get any minutes at all then I seriously worry about his future with us.
Yep, I can understand United but it would perplex me today, especially after how positive Mourinho was about him a week ago

Why isn't he starting ffs

Where will he play? He doesn’t work hard enough to play as a DM. Mourinho loves Alli and Lo Celso has earned his place. Unless Alli plays as a wing forward and we switch to a 433 it’s gonna be difficult for him to get in.

Honestly feel like we're going to regret this one down the line. It's so obvious that he doesn't have a career here while Mourinho is in charge, this ends with one of them leaving and I know which one I'd choose if I had to.
