Well he did take a Chelsea team that was in shambles under AVB and signed Willian, Fabregas, Matic, Pedro, Diego Costa, Zouma and won a title with them. And won the Europa league with United and took them to 2nd in the league. That wasn't that long ago

I alluded to Mourinho winning trophies at United and Real, but both hired him to win the league (United) or the CL (Real) and not sure he ever looked like doing either.

He changed the mindset and culture at Chelsea that won them the league and put down the foundation for their CL win. He returned Inter and Porto to previous glories and changed mindsets at both clubs. He did not need to change the mindset at United and Real because both clubs were steeped in success.

We have got Mourinho 10 years too late. He would have won us a trophy or two, but would they style have been acceptable to the majority of our fans?

Mounrinho is a good coach, but on current showing he is not changing the mentality of this team and nowhere near the Mourinho of 2003-04 with Porto or 2009-2010 with Inter. There were signs of progress against United but when they stepped up a gear in the second half we struggled. He was out coached by Chris Wilder and the exposed our vulnerabilities.. That rarely happened to Mourinho in the early part of his career.

I can see building blocks with Arteta at Arsenal, Ancelloti at Everton, Rodgers at Leicester and Lampard at Chelsea while Wolves have a clearly defined style under Santo. I just can't see what Mourinho is trying to do with this Spurs team right now.

I want him to prove his critics wrong and I hope he is successful, but he has a lot of work to do to achieve both.

PS: Does he need to bring in Rui Faria?
