The world has changed so much since last season. They NEED to know who is in the stadium now and I'm pretty sure that 90% of fans will be photo ID checked.
Can't see it myself I'm afraid....they will still employ the same staff on minimum wage who don't have the authority to challenge anyone who might say they left it at home. If the stadium's are anywhere near full capacity it is impossible for them to check everyone's IDs thoroughly in my opinion

Agreed ! Though in many ways it's window dressing. What will they do if someone tests positive ? Order the whole section of fans to self isolate ? The whole level ? It's just not practical and unfortunately that's why allowing crowds back is very risky IMHO

It's going to be a very very long time before we are anywhere near 40k inside never mind near capacity I think.

They will have to have some sort of risk assessment in place before they reopen and photo ID-ing fans would be a part of that I imagine.

I do hope that the government issues guidelines with regard to capacity.
I have little faith that the club will make a health oriented decision if it is left to them to decide.

I still haven't decided what to about my season ticket. Request a deferral, or purchase in the hope that there will be significantly reduced capacity meaning that I could hopefully opt out of any ticket ballot.

Absolutely - the Govt's hands-off approach to easing the restrictions is a recipe for disaster. I'm a bit of a cynic and I half wonder if it's all designed to deflect criticism from Govt if there's a big second spike - allowing them to blame the people....Another thought, is this the time to exclude Away fans so that more socially distanced seats are available for us lot ???

I read someone else's post saying that ticket share will not be applicable for next season at all.

I can't imagine they will check photo ID. They said that last season and they never bothered
I emailed them and they said they may allow ticket exchange before the end of the season, depending on the capacity at the time.
Yes - Ticket Share looks certain to be out all next season. Not so sure about photo ID not happening though - it might be compulsory to allow for Covid 19 Track and Trace. In the "amnesty" on who actually uses the season ticket does anyone know if you could declare two names sharing it ? And could they be two names but not the season ticket holder ?
No, you can't have two names. I also enquired about that. It's only the holder of the ticket now.

I read it as you will have to submit a photo for ID and I presume that will show up when you scan the code on your phone so they can see it is you.

@davidmatzdorf @dagraham

My family member has had their season ticket deferred but the club has refused mine despite the fact that she drives me to the matches. The reason they have given is it is because we do not live at the same address.

I am trying to debate with them now.

Its so frustrating that the club cannot issue 2 cards/sets of data for 2 people who share season tickets. If the system only permits 1 entry per game, I can’t see what the problem would be if all the details on both tickets were correct.

I wouldn’t mind spending an extra £50 say if it meant we could have 2 tickets for 2 people. I guess membership & season ticket waiting lists may be affected?

Another alternative could be to allow Ticket Share to continue, but request for all personal ID - including photo ID - to be uploaded to each membership in order for tickets to be reallocated. Meaning all information was obtainable if required.

LOTS of people share season tickets - whilst I understand that it is not actually permitted, it is an issue that should be looked into in order to find some kind of solution. Calling the Supporters Trusts!

Now that I can understand - automated yes - but actually asking a person to show the ID upon arrival is not possible.

I think the fact that the stadium is being lined up as being the guinea pig for letting fans back into the stadium first also makes it a certainty to happen. Would tie in with the previous news of facial recognition software being used by a PL club at some stage.

Thanks for that. Keep me posted.

However, my partner and I live together, so I hope they won't try that on us.

Sorry for asking dumb questions but :
1) can you ask for a deferral without having to pay the 20% up front?
2) do you opt in or opt out of ballots? Some games I won’t be able to make it because of work so if I can’t sell it back to the club that is an issue

Thanks

1) No you can't - you have to pay the 20% upfront and they will hold it for 21/22 if it is not used next year
2) Not sure - I have asked a similar question but not heard back yet.

1) No
2) It sounded like opt-in from the initial statement, but they haven't made it clear and it might depend on what capacity is. (I also would not at all rule out full capacity in the second half of the season)

I bet the chances of the council relaxing the parking zone restrictions or allowing the pop up car parks back again are zero.

I have no problem parking nearby and walking up to 20-30 minutes but I have absolutely no interest in getting on a bus or tube on matchdays, even with half the capacity they'll all still be rammed.

@davidmatzdorf @dagraham

They have deferred my ST for next season also after I emailed and told them I was unable to attend the matches without my family member.

The whole thing is a nonsense. We go to the football with family and friends if possible. A ballot makes that unlikely

Should have given ST an amnesty for Wembley. Should give all ST holders an option to defer for next season

Nothing changes, only the prices!
