He’s symptomatic of our decline since when we were good under Poch. If we had a better alternative he’d be forgotten immediately. Can’t wait for him to go.

Yep it genuinely depresses me how much we have had to rely on him.

Sorry but he is just a poor standard.

Well, he will probably be more progressive in the CM area and will suit some.good old robotic football.

Sadly agree. Sissoko is a true professional, he gives everything but he is too limited to play the holding role and the CM role.

Sissoko has a great attitude, and there are games where he is useful tactically, where application and athleticism are more important than technique on the ball. He just needs to be only used for those occasions

Sissoko's role for France has always been to move the ball upfield with pace and power, but that's the international game, and the prem just doesn't play like that. To be at the top of the prem you need really great ball playing mids, and you can't afford to have one dimensional athletes.

To my eye, we're carrying two players, Sissoko and Aurier, who are too one dimensional to play for a top 6 club.

He's extremely limited, but had a fantastic second half of last season to be fair. Was one of our best players in that period. But I agree, we need a vastly better player in there than him.

Would add Lamela to those two. Great attitude but too many injuries and runs around a lot with very little by way of creativity or affecting a game.

Lamela is about as good a squad player as you could hope to get. No value in getting rid of him at all in my opinion

The one dimensional CM Sissoko has 8 goals/assists over the past 2 seasons compared to Winks 1. While only having .3 less tackles/interceptions per game.

Winks is our one dimensional midfielder.

Lamela is important for other reasons. Let me explain

For the past 10 seasons I have had a season ticket next to John. John always brings one of his children, usually James, his son but 4 or 5 games a season he brings his daughter Emma who is now 17. In all this time Emma has never ever seen Spurs lose. Now this is where Lamela comes in. Emma Really fancies Lamela. Sell Lamela and she might stop coming to the games. And that could really cost us wins.

Winks has spent most of that time playing much further back than Sissoko, in fact Winks is often sitting between the CB's when we have possession. Winks is also one of the players that usually stays back when we take corners. Sissoko on the other hand has almost always had much more licence to roam forwards with the ball. So I'm not sure that's a fair comparison at all.
