There’s no way we are paying £25m lmao

We got lots of stories saying a £15m bid had been accepted, this then followed a shit load of ridicule from saints fans and piss taking from rival fans...Saints then quickly got their journos to deny any deal.

Two days later, Saints journos say a £25m bid has been accepted, similar to what Everton have bid...yet local journos who work at Everton said no such bid had ever been lodged.

Long story short, Saints are trying to save face and both deals will likely be undisclosed.

Interesting the wording is that we’ve ‘met Southampton’s valuation’, and not explicitly ‘have paid £25mil’. It’s probably like £17/18mil and Saints are just trying to prove they weren’t fisted by Levy.

Love that we're expected to believe that Daniel Levy, of all people, happily upped his bid by 10 million within 3 days.

The same Daniel Levy that spent an entire summer coming up with a Machiavellian scheme to screw over PSG so that we could save 10 million on the Lo Celso deal.

If that's the case nobody can say Levy hasn't backed Mourinho.

They will. Fans were saying Levy didn't back Poch last summer even though it has been confirmed by JJ, amongst others, that we signed all our first choice targets.

Bet we haven’t upped our bid, that’s being put out there by Southampton journos primarily and I suspect it’s because they don’t want to look like they’ve had their pants pulled down by Levy for their skipper. It won’t be much north of £15m as originally stated and that’s a good deal imo
Rising to £25m when we win the inter-galactic champions league for 3 seasons running. ?

I'm just glad we've (almost) got a priority signing over the line with plenty of time for him to settle in. Not only can fans not criticise Levy for fucking about, but also Mourinho will have the player he wanted most - so no excuses from him either. Makes a nice change.

Wanyama was great for us when he came in from Southampton and this lad will be even better. He will give us much needed balance we haven't had since the days of peak Wanyama.

Spoke to a Saints fan yesterday and asked his opinion on Hojbjerg.

Works hard, gets stuck in and covers a lot of ground. A solid 7/10 every game.

Will be sad to see him go but not devastated.

Seems like just what we need.
