Well I am an unfit 76 year old and I had no problem answers; like yours just confirms my beliefs about people with their own head up their own arse who spend their time checking other peoples posts to see if they are correct grammatically .
You need to find a more productive pastime . Or better still one that other people would find interesting .
Or...

You could have taken it as it was meant, that being lighthearted banter.

I'd have thought the little emoji at the end might have given that away, evidently not.

Ironic that you're accusing others of having their head up their own arse...

Lighthearted I dont think so more like sarcastic git .
Ah, the "I'm a bit embarrassed that I got it so totally wrong but, rather than hold my hands up to it like a man, I'll go on the attack instead to cover it" gambit.

Well played old fella.

We could make up a tv show out of our exchanges instead of question time we could call it insult time you never know it might catch on because I am sure we could both be more cutting in our exchanges and the great british public seems to like something with an edge .

Well played old fella.

It's pretty obvious that he's been offended by some of the posts on here.

Doesn't mean everyone is being offensive though Nailsy, I certainly wasn't being.

It was genuine banter, meant to give him a smile rather than a scowl. As I said, the emoji should have made that fairly clear.

I've never really corrected anyone's grammar on here, that I can think of, it really doesn't bother me. If I have, it's never been in a smug or condescending way.

It was a total overreaction, made worse by the inability to accept that I was genuine.

I haven't insulted you in any way, shape or form.

Methinks you need to lighten up just a tad old chap.

My spelling and grammar is much worse than Matty Miller and have been pulled up about it many times but I dont give a fig but at least it gives the grammar police something to put their mind to instead of the content of any posting as they are more interested in how you write than what you write its quite sad really as these people are pulling people up on their grammar with no knowledge of the posters educational ability . For some posting is with limited education quite difficult and that is why I dont give a toss for the grammar police .
While criticism of somebody's spelling and grammar is often unwarranted and can be bitchy, there is a serious point to it: communication. If sentences are long and lack any form of punctuation it is often difficult to discern the meaning of the post. If the is one huge 'paragraph' containing what looks like a stream of consciousness then many - often including me - simply won't read it.

Sniping at somebody's perceived lack of language skills is petty and unfortunate. I'm not saying that you do this, but anybody who intentionally disregards conventional grammar and spelling runs the risk of being misinterpreted or remaining unread simply for the sake of being belligerent.

Seems to me I should retire to have some adult conversation as the kids on here are like snowflakes

Mate, I also think that the constant correction of people's grammar, that was once funny, is fairly dull now. But that last exchange was clearly meant to be humourous.

I honestly think that a lot of the grammar stuff in here is just light-hearted piss taking and shouldn't be taken seriously, or personally.
Granted, sometimes it can be a bit old and boring but sometimes, it's genuinely funny. Like the term "lamp blasted" instead of lambasted, which was picked up in another thread and a few of the following posts really made me chuckle.
I don't mean to mock anyone's level of education but sometimes, shit's just funny.
As a general rule of thumb, don't take anything that anyone says on a forum such as this personally, this place is full of piss taking ****s! ?

Apparently Willian's grammar is flawless, so it might turn out to be a better move than it seems from the outside.

Looks like they’re getting Gabriel from Lille. Together with Saliba they could have an extremely quick and ideal defence for Arteta’s Pep-aping style.
