Could Joe Hart recapture his best form at Spurs? He is only 33 after all. Adam Bate reassesses our understanding of a goalkeeper's peak and why it could be bad news for those hoping for a renaissance.

I dont understand why his career went down so quick. He was definitely one of the best until Pep came in and i think Pep shattered his confidence which he hasnt regained. Pep likes his keepers to play exquisite passes which Hart couldnt do.

Maybe I'm misremembering it but he was consistently making poor mistakes, for club and country. We've had goalkeepers punished for a lot less (Robinson was crushed by the media starting with a freak accident that wasn't his fault) and he got many chances to get out of his rut, including international football.

Good GK's can go up to they're 40 without a problem Yashin, Buffon, Jennings & Friedel being examples.
