Most likely outcome for NDom is a loan with options.
That would be better than keeping him, at least it would free up a squad space for a player who wants to be here and also free's up £200k wages for the season. Not surprised that its proving difficult to get any offers near the £42m but if we could do a loan swap or just a loan where we get a half decent fee then that might be enough for us to get a creative loan such as a Coutiniho back in place of Ndombele.

Tricky situation but hope we can just sort it out one way or another asap.

Thanks for the info as always Trix.

Makes sense. Hopefully it would help preventing his value plummeting (if he does well of course), whilst we also collect a loan fee. He surely needs to be motivated to make the Euros next summer.

I bet we'd end up paying a lump of his wages on any loan. He's managed to make himself an extremely risky signing.

Rollercoaster of ITK on N'Dombele: starts well

Ben "I believe we have a buyer" - 41 likes, everyone happy

Dragon "Inter is the buyer but not offering enough for him, may need a player swap' - FFS

Trix "Loan is most likely option" :cautious:

This guy may have less market value than even Bakayoko did after that season at Chelsea. I really believe we need a stroke of luck to get anything done with him.

Whatever the outcome may be, we just need to finish it as soon as possible.

"No honey, I swear, it's all a big misunderstanding. I was merely thanking my favourite Spurs fan forum's resident information hunter (aka whore), Dovahkiin (Dov for short), for scouring other Spurs fan forums for tit-bits of information known as ITK, which stands for In-The-Know, wherein they share their insider knowledge on the club's transfer dealings to us fans. Simple really. :angelic:"

What the fuck are we doing with our lives?

A brilliant post Sir. Humorous, self deprecating and genuinely introspective.

At a certain point, you have to question whether it's not more beneficial trying to turn his fortune around at spurs. If we're not going to get some real money or some players in return then what's the point. I doubt he's a toxic influence on the dressing room because he doesn't have the stature to be that. He'll just be another player sulking in the corner.

I think the major positive about Ndombele compared with Bakayoko is that even in his limited performances at Spurs there are some very, impressive 10 minute video montages of his best bits: the talent is clearly there for all to see. Bakayoko was just shit.

The ITK about a loan makes a lot of sense presuming there's an obligation to buy.

Am I the only one who cannot understand how loaning out Ndombele is beneficial ? We either keep him and he performs or we sell him and re-invest. Loaning him out may get him off our head for a season but probably keeps him on our payroll.

Or just clubs don’t have money when we heard PSG and Barcelona wanted him

Seen this mentioned a lot - most notably by Alasdair Gold - and while we all know that's exactly what Levy is like, i do think (and very much hope) that given what a complete w@nker N'Dombele is being, coupled with the obvious financial situation we are currently in, then getting rid asap for a slightly reduced fee is better than risking being stuck with him (and his worth depreciating even further). Will be interesting to see how Levy handles this.

That's the hope mate. I think if there's a determination to shift him Levy could well take a 10% hit, but anyone thinking Levy will get bent over and take a big hit are deluded. Not going to happen.

Like everything, a balanced deal will have to materialise, one that reflects his difficult season with us but also reflects his natural talent as a footballer and his contractual situation.

Basically it's going to have to be a Club who are confident in that they can coax that talent out and work on his mentality as there's no doubting the huge potential if that's achieved.

We’d loan him to a club, they pay his wages then at the end of the season or when clauses are met they sign him for an agreed fee, in an ideal word

My worry about D1's Eriksen potentially returning itk, is that I think playing for Poch possibly shortens a players career. I think the intensity that Poch demands from players is both so physically and mentally exhausting, that it will have an effect of longevity. Dembele, Rose and Eriksen, all seemed to drop off in the lat 20's or early 30's. Of course it could be total rubbish and individually you can come up with alternative explanations, such as Dembele's hip, Rose's depression and Eriksen needing a new challenge. But Verts rapidly declined also, Diers game fell apart and some would say Toby isn't the player he was. In Poch's last 6 months, we seemed like an old team.

We're trying to sell him, have an interested buyer, according to the latest info, but it doesn't mean its inevitable a deal will get done.

Levy will be looking most of that money back, if not all, and despite his talent he's hardly given himself a glowing image in the past 12 months.

A lot of hurdles to overcome for this to get sorted out.
Agreed, but it feels like he will not be involved next season which for me drives his price further down should we not sell him. At some point Levy may have to accept we aren't going to get what he values him at
