Wow. Interesting. He had a blistering run of form for Torino after lockdown. He's incredibly aggressive and very pacy as well. Good finisher with both feet and a threat in the air. And of course, with the leader stigma, he has captained Torino for a while, while still being rather young. However, he is truly the heart and soul of Torino, so we'll have to pay a premium.

Edit: I don't know why I thought he was young. He turns 27 around Christmas, so he is entering his prime. Still, and intriguing and more importantly quality striker.
Belotti is very similar to Kane really. I wouldn't call him pacy either, he is more of a jack of all trades kind of player, can do a bit of everything. I would be very happy with getting him, however, would be surprised were we to get him. The loan and sale option sounds like a good way to do things though.

To me, he's sort of like a Lautaro Martinez type. He's not rapid, but he gets about. Strong, aggressive, and good in the air despite their heights. Lautaro has more quality in his build up play, but as someone who watches a lot of Serie A, Lautaro's finishing is questionable and he's come under criticism from Inter fans. As you said though, I'd happily take him.

Yeh I've watched him a few times. Maybe more athletic and powerful then quick. But I think he's much more of a number 9, who likes to drop deep, more than anything else. Like as you say, he isn't super tall but he is more or less 6ft and very much fills that role. I mean he has a bit of everything without excelling at one thing. A more all round player than Immobile and very hardworking, and while he never fulfilled the hype he had after one season in 2017 he has bounced back from a disappointing season to become a remarkably consistent useful player.

Why would Celtic sell this fella when they're going for ten in a row... they're in the same European cup competition we are too, morever, why us?

I agree with the last point.

But, Celtic are not that good. Like not at all. The ten in the row means more to Celtic fans than it would to players. In the Europa league Celtic haven't gotten past the round of 32 in years, we hope to win it. Celtics wage bill is at around 60m our wage bill is at 170m.

However romantic it may be to stay at Celtic, Celtic are financially the same level as a mid-table championship club. A high fee would be very useful for Celtic.

Because their finances aren’t great and despite being a big club in some senses they’re pants in footballing terms in comparison to the EPL and European clubs.

So essentially, he'd down tools or hand in a transfer request to force a move....I can't see DL paying the reported £40M for an unproven striker in a poor Scottish League....hope I'm wrong

Sounds like the ideal way to get around the sell on fee. Get it done Spurs, Edouard is the best we've been linked to IMO.

I think Mourinho wants someone experienced listening to his press conference, especially with our schedule and potential for more corona fuckery which could make training difficult in the future. Would love Edouard but like Daka, no way we get him IMO.

I don’t think they’re very reliable, especially this window
They've never been reliable. Not even close. Especially if you step back and look at their work large scale and not just any one specific club. Their entire business model is built around volume of stories, not accuracy. Most of their exclusives are just interviews with pundits or former players they rephrase as transfer stories. All they've done here is taken the reported stories last week of how much we have to spend on a striker and yesterday's Belotti story reported offer and said "yep this is new news".

To be fair I think the actual club are just not sure which way we are going. By the news reports and ITK, everyday we seem to be taking a new direction. One things for certain, our approach has made for fun reading on here.

scottish league meh no thanks.. Milik should be our top focus now that daka has no interest... people like this guy and habib would have good chance of just being busts.
Upamecano, haaland, mane played in Austria not long ago. You would not want them as well?

Can't forget sadio mane who came straight from Salzburg. The Austrian Bundesliga is weak, but Salzburg have the best scouting in the world, they just throw out the talent like crazy, I wish we could produce 20% of what they do.

The problem is the way the PL operates for the bigger teams you can't really afford to bring in relatively unknown gems because they need to be playing week in week out.

Chelsea's way to do this was to hoover up top talent from all over and loan them out, basically cheating the system.

Unfortunately there's just too much demand and too much resting on CL qualification for us to bring in top talent from lower leagues around the world. The best option we have is to put ourselves in a position to buy these types before the elite clubs come knocking. Like we did with Eriksen, Vertonghen, Lloris, Son, Alli, etc

We will never be able to do. The red bull complex is a system consiting of many clubs and academys around the world. It's unique, and for my personal liking not the direction football should move.

While i am not disagreeing with you regarding mane, but even if he had steps in between, the talent war clearly there already in austria. We can, for some reasons, currently not box with the heavyweights, so identifying major talent in smaller, financially challenged, leages may be thebway forward.
Not everyone will be the next suarez or haaland, but once they start lifting off they are out of our league, so i am absolutly not against going for such players early.

Celtic play at 3pm today....if Edouard is playing can we presume that it’s not him, or if it is, it’s not close to being a done deal?

If he’s not playing today I’m going to presume Stevie Nicks intends on blowing a bag of snow up my glory box, such is my hysteria right now

Do we have a space for a non HG at the moment? I think we have 16 non HG if you count Davies and 10 HG if you count Cirkin. Not sure whether Tanganga counts yet. Have lost the plot a bit with squad places tbh.

I think we have 1 space in the PL at the moment
Cirkin doesn't need to be included as he is still young enough.
