I think he is the very crux of our concerns. Our starting XI isn't got enough because 60m has been wasted on a player who has, so far, offered nothing.

It's not his fault no other player who played today knows how to pass the ball forward, he came on and actually tried to play some football with the 15 minutes he had.

He tried to play but he gave the ball away a-lot lol He also lacks the drive and intensity to dictate the tempo! The whole team today just lacked urgency and intensity! Its strange because you’d think Mourinho would get them going!

The spaces in between the lines today was crazy and it needs fixing and the shape looked horrendous! But its only one game and I guess we need to try and stay positive!

Needs to start every game i dont care if he aint fit until lo celso is back we need some forward passing fs. We had defensive cms today and still got split open

To be fair it was the absolute abhorrence of a footballer Ben Davies who was splitting us open most often rather than Evertons midfield maybe we can loan him to every club we play against and he may find a white shirt then.

He’s clearly not match sharp or fit yet BUT I would much rather someone have 80% pass success and try and make things happen than 90% and play safe.

Didn’t always come off today but he wants to have a positive impact on the ball.

We need much more of that in the team

I'm still suprised he was brought on!

Much better in midfield then the other 2, few stray passes but at least he was trying to do things

He seemed out of sync with Bergwijn from the start, thought that was the key to scoring an equalizer. Everton was also begging Spurs to rotate it towards Sissoko (rightfully so)

TBF Bergwigjn was out of sync the whole time he was out there, seemed like a bystander, passing back mainly to davies

a spell of misplaced passes after a bright start... but the main thing is with those incomplete passes he was trying to go forward and break lines, getting tanguy some match fitness and sharpness should be a real priority in the games we have coming up

Agree he was the only one not trying to dally and pratt about on the ball and slow play down, he was looking for forward passes on his first touch and get speed the momentum up. he has a few miss placed ones but as you point out it was becuase he was trying to get forward quickly , and doing through balls to hopefully ignite an attack to score a goal

I don’t think the drive point is right at all, just today he was miles off it because he missed pre season due to the knee problem/ lack of application depending on your view point

there’s no drive coming from anyone else in the midfield who played most of the game today, that’s for sure

We had no with any vision or trying to create or have the ability to do so. Last season we had Gio who was doing the link up and trying to create today we looked like clueless gimps, side passing or passing back, slowing the game to our own detriment. Tanguy atleast was trying to push forward quickly with on touch through balls or passes forward rather than dally about.

Made a huge difference when he came on, started pinging passes forward for a start, that first pass into Kane was literally night and day compared to just before he came on.

We've got a real issue, almost identical to the issue we had 2 years ago when Eriksen was playing for the team. Without Lo Celso now or Eriksen back then, we have no creativity. N'Dombele gives us creativity. Why JM brought on Sissoko for Alli baffles me, not because he brought off Alli but why Sissoko was the replacement. Completely fucked up our shape.

Confused tbh. With Lo Celso being injured so much and TN never being sure if he will play I think we need a Grealish type player ASAP. Otherwise we will struggle

Theres a lack of drive from everybody I agree. But its been no secret that hes barely been in the team under Jose, plus his attitude and fitness has been questioned numerous times!

Personally if we got an offer of 45m i’d Take it and try and buy someone else at this point in time. However, This looks unlikely in todays market with COVID etc.

Yes but the fact we can’t rely on our record signing to start a game means our starting CM pair lack any creativity and that combined with the negative tactics = zero goal threat.

Spot spot on. Grealish type player would transform us. We need that and a striker or Ndombele living up to his price tag.

I love the argument that he would hamper us defensively.

Personally, I believe what hampers us defensively is not having a midfielder in the side who can pass or retain the ball.
Preaaaaach. Winks is fucking awful defensively and starts every game and offer nothing offensively.

Jose preferring Ndombele over lamela surprises me. I hope that he can get more chances rather than just 20 mins

He needs to start on Thursday and hopefully put in a proper performance. As I always say if you can do it vs PFC Lokomotic Plovdiv 1926 you can do vs anyone.

Sissoko came on to cover Doherty who the whole tactic is based around. ?

It's the same performance every time with Ndom. He comes on, makes a turn and incisive pass which comes to nothing because the player on the end miscontrols. But you think YES, THIS IS THE TIME. He does it again YES, HE'S ON IT! But then... not much and then he starts to amble, and we don't turn the game around. He hasn't affected a game for a year. I want to believe, I really do. But I'm not into religion and I don't do blind faith.

You do knee-jerk though...with the emphasis being on the jerk part.

He is an average player ...I watched him even at lyon and didn't think he is top class player .... Don't expect him turn out like KDB or Havertz even though he is earning more or less same than these players and we spent similar amount of transfer fees on him ...

you forgot to tell us to sign SMS for the nine billionth time....
