Some of us have avatars that have emotional significance. I, for one, will not be peer pressured into changing one that means a lot to me for this nonsense.

Talks progressing between Spurs and Real Madrid to reach the total agreement for Gareth Bale. Bale's agent said the amount of profile pics recently changed on SpursCommunity has persuaded Madrid to cover 99% of his wages. Levy is apparently still trying to bargain down that final 1% with a tour of the cheese room. HERE WE GO.

@Rob / @Archibald&Crooks is there not a fine that can be imposed for non-compliant Bale AVI SO members?

He's obviously joking - let us have our childish fun, first time I've been in a decent mood regarding Spurs since the weekend. :)

Scenes when he shows up, plays 25 mins and walks off injured.

Still don’t understand the thinking behind this transfer other than hoping for a large morale boost.

FWIW, sky bet now have Sancho (1/3 to stay at Dortmund (vs 9/4 to go to Utd) and Utd a ball hair in front of us to sign Bale (2/1 vs 9/4).

Appreciate odds dont necessarily mean anything other than gambling market sentiment but its the first time both odds have flipped this way since the window opened. Does suggest expectation of Bale leaving one way or another which is ultimately exciting itself.

The amount of money bet on players transferring is so small that any reasonable (even £100 invested) sways the odds significantlly.
It is not like some of the other (winning the league, Top 4) markets where much more is invested and the odds don't sway that much.
Bookies aim to make money whatever the outcome (they are not gamblers, and their margins are small, it is about volume) so have to entice money on some outside bets to offset the money they have taken on the favourite, which is usually the only market loser for the bookie.
If you were tossing a coin, the bookmaker would not offer you even money on heads or tails, they would offer maybe 20/21 on each outcome initially, If you placed small bet on heads, they would change odds to even money for tails and say 10/11 on heads for example, enticing the next bet to be tails, so they win on either outcome
