Well there you have it, frankly I think what is under appreciated and especially on here is that it's not a simple case of motivation but not everybody who is going to move countries is going to find it seamless. You can chuck money and live in a fancy apartment all you want but the mental side of you does not give a shit about those things. Now usually a player can circumvent the difficult of moving abroad by doing what they do best and starting games but clearly, clearly in the documentary he was struggling with confidence because he wasn't starting games and it was effecting his entire personality.

Do I wish he was able to push through and work harder instead of letting those things be a catalyst for not putting in the effort. Of course I do but the amount of people who wrote him off and I'm sure continue to write him off because he had trouble settling in was frankly ridiculous. He's going to come good, I've said it before and I'll say it again he's had difficulties every step of the way and he has struggled initially but overcome. I truly believe he will do so with us and frankly there's no player whose turnaround I want to shove down peoples throats more the way some people wrote about him completely dismissing the possibility he just needed time to settle.

I said ages ago that I wouldn't be surprised if he has been suffering a few mental health issues since his move. Some home sickness, high expectations, new culture and surroundings etc. could all lead to a bout of depression which can be a huge de-motivator. If that's the case he needs a bit of time and space and room to breathe. He's immensely talented and if he can settle we all know what he's capable of.

We all know what he is capable of doing. The best thing about yesterday for me was to read the comment from Jose.

Agreed, I don’t think anyone on hear has ever doubted his talent on here. Genuinely hope he keeps impressing Jose in training with his work rate because he could be an absolutely huge star for us.

Give Tanguy the freedom with not much tracking back, like when Eden Hazard was at chavs. That is how you get the best out of him
Very different players and positions sorry mate but don't really agree, he will need to work hard and close down and make tackles in certain areas of the pitch.

Are there any videos of his performance going around Twitter or whatever you youngsters use? I paid 12 quid to watch the game and most of it was either darkness or a very decent documentary about the heydays of Serie A. So I didn't really see much of Tanguy's performance.

Way more interesting than what was on display down in Bulgaria!

I only got to see a little bit but the first things he did was to ping 2-3 balls from midfield straight into our attackers, who unsurprisingly couldn't control the ball :p

Started the move for his goal too.

His passing is incredibly precise.

While I've not been as impressed with Hojbjerg's defensive skills his forward passing has impressed me some and then Ndombele comes on and I'm like "no no, sorry Hojbjerg, this is elite forward passing." Of course it's not going to always work out but the way he can just break consistently 2-3 lines of the opposition attack is incredible. Our attackers will need to get used to receiving those balls and quick turn because it is clear they get caught off guard by the speed of it.

Also that outside of his boot curling pass into the box. I remember watching that live and gasping, just a beautiful pass. Probably won't get time to do that in PL but whoof.

Saw more ball per minute than every player on the pitch last night barring Højbjerg, a tonne more than Sissoko and a little more than Lo Celso, and really looked to make things happen.

You can only perform against the opposition you’re given but he deserves to be out in ahead of either Dele or Sissoko v Southampton in my opinion, even if it’s with a view to a sub on the hour mark for either of those.

The balls down the line to Bergwijn and across the D to Lo Celso were so effortless for him.

He's done similar things in the EPL quite consistently when given the chance, but unfortunately that's all been buried beneath the clips of lethargy and sluggishness that have come to define his first season. His highlights reel from last season really is a thing of beauty and he can absolutely tear teams apart with his passing accuracy and vision.

The pass on 29 secs was unreal, Bergwijn or whoever it was wasn't ready for it at all. The pace and accuracy was too much.

This is the talent we all know he has, as I posted during the game he has looked far more interested in running and working hard and tackling and putting the requried effort in both in this match and when he came on vs Everton. If he can get to a point of doing that regularly for 90mins he will transform our midfield. When have you ever seen Winks or Sissoko do any passed like those?! He is the missing cog to get the ball from midfield to our attacking players, very promising.

Love how he rifles the passes into players and that outside of the boot round the corner through ball was a delight as was the left foot little chip through 3 players into the middle, lovely little pitching wedge bale would've enjoyed that one.

Yes Tangy, keep this up!

For Tanguy to do what we signed him for, he needs to average a minimum of 2 passes every 3 minutes and almost a touch a minute while he’s on the pitch. Because his impact is a low percentage impact (I.e. playing the low yield high reward forward passes) he needs to be on the ball more than any other player. He was last night against Plovdiv, he needs to repeat that trick in the league and that involves more than a highlights reel, it involves constant movement to where he can beat both receive and then use the ball.

This is good news. A focussed Ndombele can make all the difference for us to be also rans to a serious top 3 or 4 contender.
Ofcourse , he has show his work on the pitch. Lets hope that Plovdiv goal combinations between Ndombele-Lo Celso is first of many.
Once Bale gets fit and with Reguilon in the side, we are going to be so much more attractive to watch.

Ndombele is the missing puzzle in all. If he can step up, unlike last season, we can beat more of top 6 teams and close any difference

That give and go between Ndombele, GLC and Lamela just before Ndombele’s goal is great to see because as soon as he makes that pass to Lamela he’s off towards the box, following the pass and losing his man. Genuinely excited for him this season hoping he stays fit, I think if he does by Christmas a lot of people in here will have changed their tune

He clearly has top drawer talent on the ball. If his head is right and Jose is prepared to use him properly we have one hell of a player on our hands.
