If he's half the player he was in 2013 then it's still a big improvement on Lucas. If we get a striker our attacking options are going to look incredible. We're regularly going to have 2/3 of Sessegnon, Lucas, Son, Dele, Bergwijn + any new ST not even making the squad!

Ardiles said that Hoddle was Maradona without the pace. So he was pretty fucking good.

You make it sound like I called him shit . Wasn't Gazza considered the best player in the world during Italia 90, he's certainly considered the best player England have ever produced.

I'd argue he's better. What we need more than absolutely anything is a winner. If he only plays at 75% of his old self but gets an extra 10% out of everyone else then we're in a better position. Also it's not like we're signing an OAP. He's a similar age to Klinsmann when we first signed him.

Much appreciated. So glad for us it worked. SpursCommunity is the best by a million miles. We now have Bale a worldy. Suppose I better chuck £20 into the funds tomorrow morning ?

I thought you were going to donate a pound for every avatar that was changed to Gareth Bale?

Bale announcement on IG. Lots of spurs players (including Verts) Liked it. Plus.... Dybala. Oh how nice would it be to have him as our new striker.

What a window already.

We have upgraded our left and right fullbacks, our defensive midfield and our wide attack. That’s four positions improved. And we’re still looking at signing a decent striker, creative midfielder and possibly a centre back.

Unthinkable a few weeks ago

God, even Beckham is/was better than Gazza :p

I can handle people losing it that the announcement is taking too long on this thread. I can even just about handle the golf puns and old twitter posts trying to trick us that Bale has signed but please, please, please don’t start insulting my first ever sporting hero and Spurs legend. Gazza is, was always and will forever more be, the greatest player ever! He made me fall in love with football. Nick Barmby a close second ;)
