That arsenal forward - just signed a new contract-who’s 31 is the king of the library... let’s not downplay our lot...
Damn right!

Every player suffers injuries. It's rare to find ones that don't or have a very thin injury record.

When it comes to Bale, remember the knee problem is currently deemed slight - he was training in Madrid (albeit in the gym) so he's not out out. The four-week timetable has been stated by the club as needed to get back to 'match fitness' not to only recover from his injury.

What do we reckon? Do we think he likes it or not, judging from the footage? I couldn't really tell.
He loves it. In the backstage footage he literally tells the interviewer about how he was 9 in a pre-season game and he still has the shirt. I don't think that's him disliking it at all.

as an aside; Mersons passing comments on Bale’s return - really? His argument was so topsy turvey, I couldn’t get to grips with what he was trying to articulate. Just cos he wears specs now, doesn’t mean he’s savvy

Really pleased with how excited both of them came across, as well as having a laugh together.
Sergio's reaction at entering the (world class) changing room and seeing his no.3 shirt was probably the highlight for me.

I think he's well chuffed... He's getting all those memories sparked off. He's back at Spurs but it's a different club to the one he left. It's a full new beginning for him.

I'm curious to put things into prospective how good prime Glenn Hoddle is, how much would u reckon a prime Glenn would fetch in the current market?
£200 million.
Edit. Maybe an exaggeration based on my love of his play. I’d suggest he’d be up there in the top 5-10 of worlds best players

I think it’s a generational thing (to a degree) those of us of an age who saw Hoddle week on week out unpicking defences, playing these pin point 70 yard balls, etc really know he was something else. Gazza was great, but when we signed him he was more of a precocious talent (I was in the Gallowgate end for the return to St James’s when the crowd through Mars Bars at him. We were losing, he picked up a mars, opened it, too a bite, then took the corner and Terry Fenwick swept it in... Glorious moment amid the absolute shit and monkey chants Mitchell Thomas and Ruel Fox were getting) but when we signed him, hand on heart I though Paul Stewart was going to be the more important signing. I’d watched Gazza for a couple of years as I was doing my degree in Newcastle and it was a quid to get in cup matches and 2.50-4.00 to get in to the First Division games and you could see he was special but not Hoddle special back then.
Definitely not Ruel Fox.

It’s like a new Bale all of a sudden, engaging on Twitter with Peter Crouch, it’s brilliant to see!
Genuinely excited and starting to believe we could see the best Bale back in a month or so!

You are right, Brian Statham... Why the devil did I think it was Ruel? Probably because I saw them abusing him so many times even when he played for them.
It's amazing how far we've come as a society in such a short time.
