If we're playing on the counter every match i'd rather someone with a bit of flair and pace as a second option. Getting a younger player in is preferential (to me) too, just given the staggering of ages in that position with Kane and Parrott.

Sometimes playing on the break requires a focal point to hold the ball while others burst past them from clearances etc as long as he holds a high position on the Pitch the central player doesn't necessarily have to be quick as long as he can draw the opposition centre backs and keep the ball.

Not sure about all the positives for this guy. He's Jannsen mark 2. No pace, slow in transition. Yes, good goalscoring record in Germany but 28 and no Dutch caps. They hardly have a big pool of strikers

He’s Dutch, that’s where the similarities end with Janssen. Such a lazy comparison.

Dutch, slow, not quick on the ball. 28 year old with not 1 cap for holland. Would struggle to get into double figures in the prem

He might not have many but he’s certainly been capped by the Netherlands.

So if you don’t even know that, why are your other opinions of him of any more worth listening too ?

By all means have an opinion and yours may be valid but get your facts straight first. ?

6’6, right footed, lethal in the air, known for his attacking positioning and intelligence, done it for more than one season. You’ve looked at his Wikipedia, maybe watched a few seconds of a YouTube video, you’ve seen he’s Dutch and you’ve made a lazy comparison about a player you know absolutely nothing about.

The funniest thing about @TROWBES82's post is that Weghorst actually has got 4 caps for Holland.

Wout Weghorst of Wolfsburg sounds like a Game of Thrones character.

He likes a tackle, scores goals... Wout, there he is! ?

actually, disagree.

he would be great as a plan B for matches when our opponents just sit deep and defend in low blocks. that's when we will try the aerial bombardment route concurrently with the GLC / Tanguy / Coco find holes to penetrate route.

with 10 mins to play and chasing a winner / equaliser for example, we clearly need better options in the air + press the opponent like pack of wolves and not let them dwell on ball / keep possession

And you've made a pre judged comment. I've seen him play live maybe 15-20 times in the last 2 years and what I've seen is not impressive. In those games ive seen he's also scored around 10 goals but his overall game in my opinion is poor. What do you base your judgement on the fact he's good?

OK it seems my comments have rubbed people up the wrong way. My assessment is from seeing this guy play live regularly in the last few seasons. I personally think our level of competition to kane should be better than this

OK if we're being picky 4 caps for a 28 year old playing for a country who are crying out for a striker. Tell me, why do you think he only has 4 caps?
It’s not being picky, that was a key part of your argument and it was false.

With regards to why he only has 4 caps, dunno - probs because they have Depay who plays there. Koeman who was the manager until last month clearly loves him as he’s trying to sign for Barca.
