Tbh the only danger I see of twitter is making it available to a wider audiences. Like the itk read only here, I can have that open and don't have to red through 35 pages of a daily thread. If people have issues like Breezer then taking certain precautions to protect themselves and their sources is wise and necessary. I don't think this should be an us vs them camp as many have a foot ij both. Both have a use but shouldn't cause damage to each other. At the end of the day we're all spurs fans wanting the same thing - the relegation of arsenal.

That ITK hub on Twitter is kicking off about some of you itk’s, and some kiddy has replied to him saying “don’t worry I’m going to sign up to that forum and give them a piece of my mind” oh dear?.

The problem I have is seeing others on socials profiting off the ITKs here without any consent on top of it. People create accounts and 'hubs' and then share what has been put here and so they garner a reputation fooling folks and getting the credit for it.

Was it Herc that someone set up a twitter account copying his avatar and info and then accused our herc of being the imposter

Can't complain about twitter, when many here do the same thing, posting up info from private forums or locked twitter accounts for all here to see. The people posting elsewhere might very well make the same points about that, I mean have they been asked if it's okay their info gets reposted?

Like with the Internet in general, this is all a lesson about being careful what you say, protecting your information, and respecting other people's information.

I don't do Twitter or any of that stuff but it seems it would be very easy for any sad fuckwit to infiltrate and undermine out ITKs for malicious purposes.

We all know to take our ITK with a pinch of salt by now but that account is also posting anything said by some very new and dubious accounts

Could the mods put together a Coleen Rooney style sting across many months to try and put a name to the phantom ITK Twitter poster?

Just to settle this a bit:

No matter what we do, we won't be able to keep ITK "private". FTL has like 30 members and their info always ends up on here. It'd be hypocritical and pointless to try and fence it in on here.

If it's being shared, it's because there's a "market" for it. You can slag people off, call them "Tier 3" etc if you want but if you think it's rubbish, why on earth are you sharing it. There's a small number of "ITKs" we've either banned or asked to stop posting as we knew they were making it up but these Twitter accounts don't seem to want any filter. They'll post anything even if they think it's made up. I prefer our way and I think we're doing a better job of it.

Finally, I don't think we need to take any of this quite so seriously. If someone on Twitter wants to go to the effort of copying everything off here then good luck to them :p
